In the past j2me coding was a kind of a nightmare in the M2M weird world. This is why I would like to thank Florent for his expertise and for the great job he does by helping people to develop their own projects. Indeed, until now this unofficial group was the only way to find some (good) support!

You may be aware that in late 2013 Gemalto decided to provide some help for the programmers community. Maybe because open source solutions are pushing hard and become famous (arduino, raspberry, etc.).
Actually Gemalto intends to make their Java platform more popular, and that sounds great.

Things you should know :
  • TC65(i) SDK 2.004 is probably the last one. There won't be any update in the future and this module is planned to be stopped (within a year or two?).
  • LGA modules are about to replace the TC65 mainly the BGS5 (also 2G).
  • EHS5 (both European & US versions) is a 3G module.
  • EHS6 is presented as the flagship of Gemalto M2M’s Java embedded wireless modules. It is a five bands modem.

According to me it could be best to keep this forum alive as well as using the Gemalto Developer corner.

Link to Gemalto Developer platform: http://developer.gemalto.com/
(you can create for login/password to access the knowledge base, it's free).

Hope this helps,
   Frederic

I am not aware that TC65i is going obsolete ! But there are probably sign when I fed back to a Gemalto that its pulse counter has bug(s). The R&D team in Gemalto admitted this but nothing is done after that!
