I want do sign my MQTT messages in addition to running MQTT over TLS.

My first choice would be libsodium (nacl). Unfortunately, I don't get it for the EG5-X, A Java binding is available, but obviously depends on libsodium. And the pure Java implementation is very restricted (secretbox only).

Does anybody has some additional resources to check for me?

Hi, there is secure connection (tcpip over ssl/tls) api on EGS5 modem. It is enough for Mqtt. You don't need some crypto lib.
