POSITION:2
HTML5/Front End developer
6 months contract
Chicago, IL
We are looking for an experienced web application developer to create awesome map-based apps. Our team is nimble, flexible and talented. We help each other out to get stuff done and learn from each other’s expertise. We move and learn fast, prototype quickly. We’re passionate about what we do and getting even better at doing it.
If you’re a developer with an eye for design and aesthetics we want to hear from you! Being in a small, fast-paced team means you’ll be doing a bit of everything with lots to learn from and contribute to: developing features quickly and reliably, automated testing, making architecture decisions, feedback on feature concepts… you name it. If you’re the kind of developer who raises concerns before they become an issue and asks a lot of questions until a concept is waterproof you’re our kind of developer.
Core Skillset:
• Experience and deep understanding of Javascript
• Experience in HTML5/CSS
• Experience working with RESTful APIs
A Big Plus:
• You have worked with AngularJS or other MV-whatever JS framework
• PhoneGap/Titanium or other cross platform mobile app Dev framework
• You enjoy architecting code in a way that makes you and your teammates more productive
Nice to have:
• You are familiar with LESS and Bootstrap for some CSS magic
• You don’t let a single pixel on screen be out of place
• You love maps and have done stuff with them
• You love clean, maintainable and modular code. If you don’t like what you see, you review it and ask to refactor it
• You optimize your time – if you can automate something repetitive and boring like deployment, you do it quickly
• You care about performance – if you can improve load/render times in slow connections or machines, you will push the team to do it
• You can point us to a URL of something cool you’ve done
• You believe in using the right tool for the job, but you don’t think twice before playing around with new things.
If you have one or more of these, we really want to talk to you.
