JPF does not yet support Java 17.  Use Java 8 instead for now.

I am trying to start working with JPF, but I got lots of problems while installing it.
Here is some information about my system and the error that I faced with.

Mac OS X 12.1
Openjdk 17.0.1
Gradle 7.3.3
junit-4.13.2
hamcrest-core-1.3

Error while running ./gradlew test:
FAILURE: Build failed with an exception.

* Where:
Build file '/Users/XXX/Documents/jpf/jpf-core/build.gradle' line: 24

* What went wrong:
A problem occurred evaluating root project 'jpf-core'.
> Could not find method testCompile() for arguments [org.ow2.asm:asm:7.1] on object of type org.gradle.api.internal.artifacts.dsl.dependencies.DefaultDependencyHandler.


The line 24 in build.gradle: testCompile "org.ow2.asm:asm:7.1"

Hi Mohsen, 

We should assume that there's something wrong with our Java installation or something like that when JPF isn't running on our system. As I suggested in that thread, it's probably best to just run JPF on a VM if you see errors. Hope this helps.
