- the JCP is too formal
- this forum seems too out of the way (at least for now, maybe more people will participate)
- seems like something should already exist that is "just right" for discussing new ideas for JLS & other ideas (what about important libraries that don't affect the core language?) -- is there such a place?

I am not aware of an alternative. Otherwise, I would be using it. I only set this up, because I could not find anything else.
