Job Summary
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer with strong expertise in Java/J2EE, Microservices architecture, and Cloud platforms (AWS/Azure). The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in building scalable backend systems, event-driven architectures, and exposure to AI integrations and developer productivity tools like GitHub Copilot.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems using Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture
Build and manage event-driven systems using Kafka / Pub-Sub messaging frameworks
Develop RESTful APIs and ensure high performance, security, and scalability
Deploy and manage applications on AWS and Azure cloud platforms
Work with Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including frontend, DevOps, and AI teams
Integrate AI-based capabilities into backend systems where applicable
Implement CI/CD pipelines and follow DevOps best practices
Ensure code quality through unit testing, code reviews, and best practices
Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability
Required Skills
Strong experience in Java / J2EE
Expertise in Spring Boot and Microservices architecture
Hands-on experience with Kafka or Pub/Sub messaging systems
Experience working with AWS and/or Azure cloud services
Proficiency in Docker and Kubernetes
Good understanding of REST APIs, distributed systems, and system design
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
Familiarity with Node.js (good to have)
Exposure to AI integration and tools like GitHub Copilot
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with event-driven architecture and streaming platforms
Knowledge of AI/ML integration in backend systems
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform / ARM templates)
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
Nice to Have
Experience with multi-cloud environments
Exposure to LLMs, AI APIs, or AI-based backend services
Understanding of security best practices in cloud applications
Education
Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
