Hi demo from Pittsburg pa my question is why is it that every time I press the lock button it takes like 10 seconds to make the lock sound when really it's only suppose to take 1 second is this normal or is there a problem with my I pad or is it a bug

Hi Dc24. It shouldn't take 10 seconds for you to hear the locking sound but with my iPad there is a little bit of a delay - maybe 2 second at the very most - before I hear the lock sound. I know we have talked about some other things in your other posts, but I can't remember if I suggested this. Try rebooting your iPad and see of the lock sound comes a little quicker.

If you have the side switch set to lock screen rotation then the system sound control is in the task bar. Double tap the home button and in the task bar at the bottom, swipe all the way to the right. The speaker icon is all the way to the left. Tap on it and system sounds will return.

But let me say again, that if you are having issues that are sound related and you have checked all of your settings, you probably should take your iPad to an Apple Store, there could be something very simple that we are missing and if its something hardware related, your iPad is still under warranty.

I'm not sure why that happens, but you know that you can turn up sounds in Settings>Sounds>Change with Buttons>Off. If you set that to off and turn the sound up, that should leave the sound where it is set at because now your volume button on the iPad will not control the keyboard click volume.

Whenever I lock (by button) or unlock (by pattern or fingerprint) my S10 5G, I can hear a faint but noticeable mechanical click or latching sort of sound. I thought at first it might be a sound-effect but the more times I hear it I'm sure it is physical. It's a little bit like the sound a hard-drive makes when parking (or maybe crashing) its heads.

Hi, although this does work, I'm pretty sure it's a problem because I just got the S20 and for the first few days it was fine and suddenly out of nowhere yesterday the annoying sound occurred. Mine is less of a click and more of a squeak. Should I get this checked out? Thanks

I totally thought it was a tiny power relay inside this humungous S7 tablet. I only have other older Sammy devices, but I got a new phone today, and it made me google this. Excellent user special effect, had me fooled.

Edit: I know this can be done by from setting->sound->screen lock sound checkbox but i need to do this just for my app only no matter whats general setting for screen lock sound is selected.

This isn't something you need to program - this setting is in Android settings, sound settings, "Screen lock sounds". Since that's an option for the settings app, I doubt you can change it from your app. (Changing other applications' data is forbidden unless it's root/system app)

Hi all. I've noticed along with the new sound on IOS10, there's a very quiet lock sound when you hit the power button. I don't think there's a way to turn this up, I'd like it there was. If you turn off Voice over, and click the power button, it's a lot louder then when speech is on. It makes some sense, voice over is probably reading, so the sound is quieter. I just would like to be able to hear it better then always double checking the screen is locked. I hope this makes some sense, I thought there was a sound effects volume somewhere? btw, this has nothing to do with audio ducking, which personally Idisable every time, I'm not a fan of it. :) thanks for any help.

Hi. personally i don't like always hearing confirmation, screen locked, if the sound is enough for me. I agree if the option were to exist, i would personally turn that off as I'd rather not have my phone up in a noisy place, set it down and pusht he button to hear "Screen locked!!!!" It's just me though. Actually I did also submit feedback, I asked if maybe they can either let you turn up the volume of that sound, and other voice over sound effects if you want, so you don't have to always hear the loud clicks when the volume is up, but also have haptick feedback when you lock the screen. To my knowledge, this was part of the beta, I don't know why they took it out, as i'm sure for someone who's deaf blind, this would be fabulous for them. Here's hoping something happens.

For the little chirp, sometimes that's all you hear when you click the power button, but it isn't to bad for me. remember about the new lock sound, everyone has it, not just you. I don't mind either sound, but yeah I guess you could pick either if you wanted. Maybe others should submit feedback enhancement requests for these things, I did my part. :) Glad I got a positive discussion going.

Hello all. Just wanted to touch on something @Jeff bright up. He isn't crazy about the chirp, again this might be where if they don't let you pick it, you can turn down the sounds, that being one of them. I also locked my phone four times. twice, it clicked, chirped. The other two, it clicked, nothing was chirped, so I'm not quite sure what's up. Just thought i'd let you all know.

Hi Jeff. do you mean the click sound you hear if you put the phone right against your hear and push the sleep wake button? If yes, this is the sound I would like the volume increased or at least user difinable. As it is, turn off voice over, andpush the button, you'll hear a vast improvement on the volume. Turn voice over on again, and you'll get the barely audible click. Maybe the "chirp" both of us are talking about is the same thing? :) I'd be fine with how things are just increasing that sound volume, or as I said disabling the screen locked feature as ifind that particcularly annoying. If i have some form of audible feedback, I'm good. :) here's hoping Apple might hear us. or at least others besides you and I write to them. Have a good one.

The Churp is only while locking for Voiceover I think it took the place of saying screen lock for some reason. However if the lock sound was the better IOS9 lock sound it wouldn't have to say screen locked either as the lock sound would be loud enough.

The chirp is an extra sound that replaces VoiceOver saying screen locked. personally, I love it and don't think it should change at all. As to wether it could be louder? Possibly but I don't mind it how it is now either.

Hi,
I love the chips. every time I lock my phone at night, I love hearing the chirp. I usually turn speech off, then lock my phone. Apple has finally done something to make it easyer for users to lock the phone. I love both the new lock sound, and the extra voiceover chirp.

Hi i think that it's grate there are a new sound, but like others i think that this sound is week and it does very hard to hear in pablick places. i think at wee needs to ask from apple to increes the sound and in genaraly all sounds of VoiceOver

Hi all.
What I do is, first, triple click the home button to turn VO off. Next, press volume up key to get the loudest volume possible and lock the screen once. Then use touch ID to unlock the screen, then triple click to turn VO back on. Finally, turn the volume down again, and you should have the lock sound volume on a similar level with VO. Note, locking the screen when VO finishes talking or when the talking is paused would give you great effect. This also temporarily solves the problem of alert sounds being sometimes too quiet.
Hope it helps!

I turn VO sounds off. I have found that, for me, it is faster not to have the VO sounds on. In fact, I find most of the sounds drive me a bit nuts. This is the same for my Mac as well. I guess that you can call me a bit silly. I know I have been called worse things. Oh, I like the new stock lock sound.

A custom system sound theme builder akin to how other Good Lock themes are created- where users can select their own audio files for touch interactions, charging started, keyboard touch, low battery etc! That would be so neat.

I want to lock a video and audio clip together on the timeline so I don't have to individually select them all together to move them around. I know this works with synced video and audio clips. But I'm talking about two completeley unique clips, that for whatever reason need to be locked together on the timeline (perhaps a sound effect, or sync audio from a different source). this could be several video clips (an effects stack) or a combination of anything.

Yes Premier and Final Cut have had this for a long time. The only way to have a video and audio clip locked together on a timeline is for it to have been synced, or loaded with both video and audio at source.

It's not only for single clips though. I might have a series of shots with sound design that goes with it, that I won't ever want to touch. But I might still want to move the entire 'group' around. Instead of having to lasso select the group, which sometimes involves a fairly fiddly combination of clicks if it's an irregular shape on the timeline, I could just click one of the clips and the entire group would be selected - much like it would with a video/audio synced clip.

For instance, my latest project was inadequately slated on the shoot, and I had to sync entire interviews by eye, using broken audio and video. Which means I can't even subclip it. I have to therefore, work with a sequence with separate audio. All fine for viewing and selecting. But once it's on the timeline, there's no way of locking the audio to the video and things can easily fall out of sync.
