Please run cmd.exe and then "reg export "HKLM\SOFTWARE\ESET\ESET Security\CurrentVersion\Plugins\01000400\Settings" reg.txt". Open reg.txt and remove the lines containing username and password. Save the file and post it here.

And a few months ago from present, when I wanted to sign-in for a popular game server, after I wrote my account name and password, that page suddenly started asking me my cellphone number.I contacted the support staff of the game server and told them that I never wrote a cellphone number into my account details, they told me that my account was stolen and then they reset my password so my account got recovered.

Figured out the password issue (fat finger) and I checked a few things and MS had a tech article on resetting permissions on the drive from Safe Mode and that wouldn't even work. ESET wouldn't uninstall, Install Shield wouldn't run, I couldn't run the CMD prompt as Administrator, couldn't copy anything to/from the desktop or My Documents... It was hosed.

Most of our co-workers use their PC with only User rights, but sometimes we need access to ESET as Administrator. Since ESET starts automatically with Windows, my question is, how can we use the software as Administrator (by entering admin username and password) without having to sign off and sign in as Admin?

I sent a private message to Marcos, but I purchased ESET Smart Security Premium for up to ten devices for one year using the same email address registered here on the ESET Security Forum. I need my username and password so I can activate and update ESET NOD32 Antivirus for GNU/Linux on two Linux Mint 20.0 64-bit "Ulyana" GNU/Linux PCs as soon as possible. I hope that Marcos will reply via private message with the required information and it just works. Thank you.

MegaCreep uses the MegaApiClient C# library to communicate with Mega cloud storage. Authentication is done with a username and password, which are stored encrypted in a local file, Sess.dll. Figure 7 shows the code that loads the username and password from Sess.dll.

Marcos- I am still trying to navigate the eset reporting tool..once I do I will post the results. Itman..the DNS suffix is the same but there is more to tell. I have been a victim of repeated hacking, I believe by a neighbor. Running malicious scripts, changing my login passwords, mapping my keyboard to other keys, etc. I am not too computer savvy but enough to get me in trouble. :). My main concern is there any way to block the router which has a different IP address but had an exact same mac address as mine now it is changed one digit?

Question is how your neighbor connects to you? , so as you have said he has set up a MITM monitoring your traffic and getting everything going to him in terms of traffic , so he needs to be connected through something like a cable or wireless , let's say he is connected using wireless , I think you need to disable wireless for now till you get rid of him outside and secure your Router login , maybe reset it and update the firmware of the router , and get a good password for your wireless and change the admin username and password of the router login page

Microsoft Entra self-service password reset (SSPR) gives users the ability to change or reset their password, with no administrator or help desk involvement. If Microsoft Entra ID locks a user's account or they forget their password, they can follow prompts to unblock themselves and get back to work. This ability reduces help desk calls and loss of productivity when a user can't sign in to their device or an application. We recommend this video on How to enable and configure SSPR in Microsoft Entra ID. We also have a video for IT administrators on resolving the six most common end-user error messages with SSPR.

This tutorial shows an administrator how to enable self-service password reset. If you're an end user already registered for self-service password reset and need to get back into your account, go to the Microsoft Online password reset page.

In March 2023, we announced the deprecation of managing authentication methods in the legacy multifactor authentication and self-service password reset (SSPR) policies. Beginning September 30, 2024, authentication methods can't be managed in these legacy MFA and SSPR policies. We recommend customers use the manual migration control to migrate to the Authentication methods policy by the deprecation date.

When users need to unlock their account or reset their password, they're prompted for another confirmation method. This extra authentication factor makes sure that Microsoft Entra ID finished only approved SSPR events. You can choose which authentication methods to allow, based on the registration information the user provides.

Before users can unlock their account or reset a password, they must register their contact information. Microsoft Entra ID uses this contact information for the different authentication methods set up in the previous steps.

The interruption to request to register contact information during signing in, will only occur, if the conditions configured on the settings are met, and will only apply to users and admin accounts that are enabled to reset passwords using Microsoft Entra self-service password reset.

To keep users informed about account activity, you can set up Microsoft Entra ID to send email notifications when an SSPR event happens. These notifications can cover both regular user accounts and admin accounts. For admin accounts, this notification provides another layer of awareness when a privileged administrator account password is reset using SSPR. Microsoft Entra ID will notify all global admins when someone uses SSPR on an admin account.

If users need more help with the SSPR process, you can customize the "Contact your administrator" link. The user can select this link in the SSPR registration process and when they unlock their account or resets their password. To make sure your users get the support needed, we recommend you provide a custom helpdesk email or URL.

When you test self-service password reset, use a non-administrator account. By default, Microsoft Entra ID enables self-service password reset for admins. They're required to use two authentication methods to reset their password. For more information, see Administrator reset policy differences.

To access your account, you will type in your username and password at the appropriate prompts. At any time, you have the option of directly changing your assigned password (Note: your password only).

Mirai then identifies vulnerable IoT devices using a table of more than 60 common factory default usernames and passwords, and logs into them to infect them with the Mirai malware.[5][14][15] Infected devices will continue to function normally, except for occasional sluggishness,[14] and an increased use of bandwidth. A device remains infected until it is rebooted, which may involve simply turning the device off and after a short wait turning it back on. After a reboot, unless the login password is changed immediately, the device will be reinfected within minutes.[14] Upon infection Mirai will identify any "competing" malware, remove it from memory, and block remote administration ports.[16]

On 21 October 2016, multiple major DDoS attacks in DNS services of DNS service provider Dyn occurred using Mirai malware installed on a large number of IoT devices, many of which were still using their default usernames and passwords.[31] These attacks resulted in the inaccessibility of several high-profile websites, including GitHub, Twitter, Reddit, Netflix, Airbnb and many others.[32] The attribution of the Dyn attack to the Mirai botnet was originally reported by Level 3 Communications.[29][33]

Now, consider the case where a user with PrivDog or Superfish installed is visiting a site over HTTPS because he/she is providing sensitive information, such as a username and password. If his/her browser does not complain about the certificate, at best that means that whatever system he/she is talking to was issued by one of the trusted root CAs, including SuperFish or Privdog.

Many Americans are concerned about online security. But we all have work to do to improve the security of our online accounts. 72 percent of Americans believe their accounts are secure with only a username and password. Unfortunately, this simple method for protecting ourselves online is not as effective as it once was. But there is some good news. A confluence of emerging technologies, under the banner of strong authentication, is making it easier for everyone to better secure their online accounts.

K7 achieved VB100 certification at its first attempt a little under a year ago, but then disappeared from our radar for some time, missing out on several less arduous tests only to return in time for a tricky platform. The product handled the new surroundings with some ease however, requiring the admin password and a reboot to get running, and asking for a username and email address to keep in touch with users, before presenting a clear and stable interface.
