JATS-Con is coming in October of this year
(
http://jats.nlm.nih.gov/jats-con/) and the paper proposals are due on
Friday. I was thinking that perhaps this project would make a nice
presentation for that conference, and have started to draft a paper
proposal. The submission page only wants a brief summary of the paper
(
http://jats.nlm.nih.gov/jats-con/forms/Submissions.html) so it will
be easy to draft something up.
Even though this is a very lightweight project, I think it would make
a nice presentation for two reasons: the novelty of the application
-- I'm sure it will raise some eyebrows; and the way it is being done,
on GitHub and completely open.
I'm wondering if others think this is a good idea, and/or are
interested in co-authoring and/or helping to present.
One benefit that I see, is that if you're on the hook to present
something, then it's a powerful motivator to get the job done!
Cheers!
