JATS-Con is coming in October of this year
(http://jats.nlm.nih.gov/jats-con/) and the paper proposals are due on
Friday. I was thinking that perhaps this project would make a nice
presentation for that conference, and have started to draft a paper
proposal. The submission page only wants a brief summary of the paper
(http://jats.nlm.nih.gov/jats-con/forms/Submissions.html) so it will
be easy to draft something up.

Even though this is a very lightweight project, I think it would make
a nice presentation for two reasons: the novelty of the application
-- I'm sure it will raise some eyebrows; and the way it is being done,
on GitHub and completely open.

I'm wondering if others think this is a good idea, and/or are
interested in co-authoring and/or helping to present.

One benefit that I see, is that if you're on the hook to present
something, then it's a powerful motivator to get the job done!

Cheers!

Hey Chris, hey everyone,

I thinks this sounds like a good opportunity to present this project and get feedback and suggestions. I also agree on the motivational benefit. :) So I would be glad if I could help you with the manuscript. It shouldn't be a big deal to get a abstract done until Friday. An suggestion how to write this together? Github? An etherpad? Anything else?

Cheers

Konrad

Great! I created a Github wiki page for this, then, here:

Hi,

Konrad, I like what you've added so far.  I am sorry I have been slow to get to this.  I will work on it more this afternoon.  I'll write to Jeff, who is the recipient of these paper proposals, and ask for the weekend to finish this one.  He has indicated it should be no problem.

Cheers!

Nice - it would be helpful to have a little bit more time.

Cheers
