Hi,

We use Jatos 3.6.1 and I would like to export the studies log table that we get in the administration options. Is there a way I can export that as a CSV file or any other format?

Thanks!

Hi,

Do you mean you want to use my data on Jatos? Or, do I need to back up the data? Sorry if this is not a good question. Thanks a lot.

My best,
İpek

Hi Alex,

There are actually two types of logs (or three if you count the loader.log): 1) the application log, and the 2) the study log. The application log is in the application page: your JATOS > Administration > Logs > application.log (or "Show all logs"). You can read them there in the browser or download them after you clicked on "Show all logs". The format is one--line-one-entry. Then, the study logs you can get in JATOS > your study > More > Study log. The study log is individual for each study and they have the JSON Line format. If you open them you can read them in the browser or download them there.

Now I don't now which log you actually want since you want to "study log in the administration options"? But anyway you can download both via JATOS' GUI like described. If you prefer to get the directly from JATOS' host: they are stored (by default) in JATOS' installation folder in "logs" and "study_logs".

I hope, I could help!
Best,
Kristian

Hi Kristian!

Thanks for the answer. What I actually want is a compilation list of all the studies (from all users) I have in my jatos server. Like when you go to Home/Administration/Studies you get a list of all the studies on the server. I was wondering if there is a way to export that. I attach a snapshot of the page I mention.

Many thanks!

Hi Alex,

you could use the endpoint that JATOS' GUI is using: /jatos/status, but to make this work outside of a browser you have to deal with JATOS session cookies. But you can try it out in the browser (if you are logged in in JATOS in this browser): open a tab and go to my-jatos-domain/jatos/status. I can give you more information if you want to follow this path.

Newer versions of JATOS have an API that has an endpoint /jatos/api/v1/studies/properties, that would give you all study (and component and batch) properties of all studies where your user is a member of. But this is not available in 3.6.1 - only from 3.8.1 on.

Best,
Kristian
