For Immediate Release. UnderTheAsphalt.com 07/01/08
Word has spread that Jasun Martz, the avant garde composer and
musician is in the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico recording a new album
in the shadows of Mayan ruins. Martz, who lives in New York is
probably best known for his contemporary classical orchestral symphony
The Pillory that featured ex-Frank Zappa players Eddie Jobson, Ruth
Underwood and 40 other musicians.
Martz’s most recent CD, The Pillory/The Battle, which featured the 115
member Intercontinental Philharmonic Orchestra, was composed while he
trekked the world’s tallest active volcano, Cotopaxi, in Ecuador South
America.
“I’ve long been interested in ancient Mayan civilization and it is
really playing a pivotal role in my composing and recording this new
symphony” Martz said.
Mr. Martz has an exceptionally diverse musical background. He recorded
with Michael Jackson, toured with Frank Zappa, helped arrange the
Starship hit, “We Built this City” and has had several solo CDs
released.
The new album, entitled “Disintegration” will again be performed by
the Intercontinental Philharmonic Orchestra and is slated to be
released sometime in 2009. More information at JasunMartz.com
