Hello!
I just installed jasper image on my pi and am running it for the first time. I followed the instructions exactly as in the post image documentation. In seem to be having some sort of a problem. It just seems to say "how can I help you?" and there is some error regarding invalid sampling rate in this file pyaudio.py. I am using a usb sound card for both the speaker and the mic.Can you please help me out with the diagnosis of the problem?

Hi,

I ment copying the error messages here in your post in the forum
Here can add lines of code, orlines of console output

About your problem, that seems to be a audio configuration problem.
Can you do echo tests with your audio hardware with arecord and aplay?
Perhaps you have to change/configure your .asoundrc or the alsa-base.conf file.

Turns out arecord and aplay are not working. It gives an error everytime .
arecord:main: 722:audio open error: no such file or directory

Thats a clear sign that there is an audio hardware problem, perhaps connection perhaps configuration.
Which audio hardware do you use? jack? usb?

Questions:

What image are you using? Mine?

What audio hardware do you have?

Are you using a desktop?
