not able to obtain ip with pre compiled disk

I am using B+ model of pi and i have downloaded the unofficial pre-compiled disk. 

I have connected my pi with my wifi router using LAN cable in order to provide it with the internet. 

I find my ip for the pi by seeing the connected devices to my wifi router.

When I use official jessie image, i am able to see my pi connected to the router and able to get its ip.

but when i use the pre-compiled image, I am not able to find my pi connected to the router and hence not able to obtain the ip address. Even the lights on the lan port of the pi do not turn on when i use pre-compiled image.

how can find the ip address and connect to my pi via ssh.

the img has nothing to do with your network.

Log in and type 'ifconfig' and it will start with 192. probably.

plugged in or wifi?
