Im looking for a good (relatively cheap) microphone. I was hoping for a 5-10 range before I would have to start yelling.

I use the USR Robotics 9610 speaker/mic combo. It is $8 on amazon prime. I like it.

Thanks. I didn't realize its possible to use a speaker/ mic combo. How did u set that up?

It was simpler than I imagined it would be. The mic was automatically selected. The speaker required a small tweak in the mic.py file, removing the "-hw:" and its arg in the string it built for the execution of aplay.

So all you have plugged in is that one USB port on the speaker?
