Dear Vedran.

Thanks for your interest in JASPAR and your message. The CTCFL motif in JASPAR was obtained by processing ChIP-seq data from ReMap 2018. This motif is indeed very similar to the CTCF motif, as supported by the literature you cite and https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/26268681/.
