Hi,

I am in  the process of acquiring the pilothouse version of Jason 35 and soon I will need a lot of information about her - this is a project boat.
This "group" must have been created with me in mind :-) Thanks for accepting  me.

All the best!

I never knew there was a pilot house version of the Jason.  I designed it for an individual owner, and he had the first one built.  Then the s.o.b. builder, who built them to order after that, never did pay the agreed royalties, so I have no idea what the pilot house version looks like.

I do offer a complete set of drawings, to owners only, for $195 US, hull lines to sail plan and everything in between, arrangement plan, joiner sections, deck layout, construction profile, construction sections, laminate schedule, ballast, chainplates, stemhead and misc detail drawings. These are copies of all the original drawings the boat was built from.  The fee includes any consultation I can offer, plus 8x10 prints of the hull lines and sail plan suitable for framing.

The only pilothouse I looked at in Poulsbo area 30 + years ago was a redo of deck to accommodate fisherman and his outriggers.  Smiling at description of E. Miller!

Hi
We have a pilothouse Jason 35. We bought her in Bellingham in 2006. Her name was Felina, but we renamed her Beamer.

Hi Ted,

does these drawing  show balsa core thickness through the deck and coach roof? I have to replace all of it.

Thanks,
Mark

I bought her yesterday morning.
The rest of  the day. I spent a in the bilge and in other tight spaces laying on my back looking at the deck from down below.
Yes, this boat has been built to a different standard - maybe under estimating the "glass" or just simply "because".
It doesn't  really matter, she seems to be a tank.
I hope the force will be with me and I will give her what she can give back.

See below, the original owner of the boat - Bob Lane and yours truly (the second owner)

I have seen several pilothouse Jasons. One that I remember was in the little marina on Coon Bay off the Hood Canal.

I wonder if the pilothouse version was built by Miller Marine, the yard on Bainbridge Island that built the majority of Jasons? What is the HIN of your new boat? The HIN of my Jason, Norwegian Steam, is MMR34010MY61. Broken down:
MMR:      Miller Marine
34010:     A Miller 34, the 10th hull out of the mold. (The Jason 35 brand name had not yet been invented.)
MY61:      Unique identifier for my hull (I think).

By the way, there is also another Brewer-designed boat with an identical hull, except that the stern is square. I learned this when Norwegian Steam was moored next to such a boat, owned by a Brit named John Aldus, in Marina de la Paz, La Paz, Baja Sur, Mexico. The last time I was in La Paz, a couple of years ago, John Aldus and his boat were still there. I wonder whether or not Ted Brewer got paid anything for that design?

Suspect the MY61 may be Manufactured Year 61.

Good guess, but not possible. The first Jason 35 came out of the mold in 1976.

Alan and friends

I had nothing to do with the pilothouse version of the Jason.  I designed Jason for a man who took the plans to Miller for a quote.  Miller built #1, named Jason by her owner, and made a mold of the hull to go into production.  He paid me a few royalties and then quit. I never drew a pilot house for the boat, nor a square stern  but, as I recall, the latter was a one off for a client and is more cut away underwater.  Sorry, but at 85 years now, my memory tends to fade a bit.

Complete drawings of the original design are still available to owners for $145 US, everything the boats were built from,  the hull lines to sail and rig plan and everything in between, arrangement plans, joiner sections, laminate schedules, construction plans and profile, deck plan, chain plates, etc.
