Repower

My boat, Norwegian Steam, Jason 35 number 10, was fitted by Miller Marine with a Volvo MD2B engine. I think the old iron spinnaker is near the end of her life.

Who of our membership has suffered through a repower? What engine did you decide on? How has it turned out?

We replaced the Perkins 4-108, which lasted 6000 hours and 41 years last year.  We saw you on Norwegian Steam in Blind Bay recently.

We now have a Beta Marine 35.  It Fits in easily and in sync with with our rebuilt Velvet Drive transmission and three blade Max Prop.  This year is our first summer cruise with it.

We are happy the old Perkins finally died.  Although it was good for many trips thru rapids in the Salish Sea and along the Oregon and Washington Coast.

Jerry & Joy: certainly was a pleasure bumping into you in Blind Bay. Droemen is a beautiful vessel. If Ted has seen her, she makes him proud, I wager.

From whom did you buy the Beta Marine 35? Did you install it yourselves? If not, who'd you get to do it? (I would need to find an installer).
