Hi,

To build your own CAS server, the best way is to use a Maven overlay: http://jasig.github.io/cas/4.0.0/installation/Maven-Overlay-Installation.html.

Though, if you use Gradle, you should read this post: http://tstacked.blogspot.fr/2013/06/gradle-war-overlay-plugin.html.

using gradle overlay in all CAS projects since 2 years without a problem.
