Thestring section is the basis of the orchestra and the one consistent component of orchestras down the ages. The range of expression available and the great stamina of strings makes them a powerful tool. The Principal of the First Violin section is also the Leader of the orchestra.

The wind section is traditionally known as the woodwind section even though not all the instruments are made of wood (for example the saxophone is made of metal). The woodwind section usually includes flutes, oboes, clarinets and bassoons. Saxophones are less commonly used.

The traditional line-up of the brasses is: Horns, Trumpets, Trombones, Tubas. The numbers and combinations of these instruments vary greatly according to historical period, geographical location and, of course, composer choice. Horns are often used in combination with woodwind, and generally have a weaker sound than the other brass.

The percussion section includes any number of instruments from timpani to tubular bells and from castanettes to congas. The variety of instruments is enormous, however they do fall into two main groups: tuned percussion and untuned percussion.

All fabrication, manufacturing, and testing are done in Southern Oregon by professional technicians who strictly adhere to ISO procedures and guidelines, ensuring a consistently reliable product every time. Prompt and timely delivery is guaranteed with in-house metals and fabrication shops. Rather than relying on outside vendors, we have in-sourced to create a streamlined production process that benefits the end customer with shipping times that are nearly half those of our competitors. Our skill and consistency in production combined with high-quality components guarantee the most accurate data in air quality monitoring. Meeting or exceeding EPA standards, you can count on Met One Instruments, Inc. to provide the most reliable and accurate measurement devices.

A wide-angle camera and a narrow-angle camera, each with an eight-megapixel sensor, will produce high-resolution color and stereoscopic images of Europa. They will study geologic activity, measure surface elevations, and provide context for other instruments.

The thermal imager uses infrared light to distinguish warmer regions on Europa where warm liquid water may be near the surface or might have erupted onto the surface. It will also measure surface texture to understand the small-scale properties of the surface.

Whatever Europa Clipper reveals could change our understanding of the solar system, and other planetary systems, forever. "This is a giant step in our search for oases that could support life in our own celestial backyard," said Curt Niebur, Europa program scientist at NASA Headquarters in Washington. "We're confident that this versatile set of science instruments would produce exciting discoveries on a much-anticipated mission."

Both MDrummer and MSoundFactory can be extended. The good thing for the users is that all drum libraries are free for MDrummer users, and licenses for all instruments published by MeldaProduction are included when you own an MSoundFactory or MSoundFactoryLE version. But you may also buy (or get) some of the single premium instruments separately. You only have to get free MSoundFactoryPlayer.(MSoundFactory turns into this free version after the 15-day trial version expires; no extra installers are needed.)

The Particles and Fields Package, built by the University of California, Berkeley/Space Sciences Laboratory (SSL) with support from the University of Colorado Boulder/Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics (LASP) and Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC), contains six instruments that will characterize the solar wind and the ionosphere of the planet:

Harvard University has been acquiring scientific instruments on a continuous basis for teaching and research since 1672. The Collection of Historical Scientific Instruments, which was established in 1948 to preserve this apparatus as a resource for teaching and research in the history of science and technology, has become one of the three largest university collections of its kind in the world. Originally associated with the Harvard library system, the Collection was placed under the stewardship of the Department of History of Science in 1987.

The High Flux Isotope Reactor and Spallation Neutron Source provide researchers with two complementary world-class suites of neutron scattering instruments and beam lines. The instruments are supported by a variety of sample environments and data analysis and visualization capabilities.

The Sample Environment Group provides equipment and support for studying materials under controlled conditions (temperature, pressure, magnetic field, chemical environment, etc.). When you come to HFIR or SNS to conduct an experiment, our front-line teams are there to support you. Although we currently offer a wide range of capabilities, we realize that these capabilities must continually grow. Therefore, we also have a busy research and development team, and we encourage you to partner with them to develop new equipment and techniques.

BWAVES (Broadband Wide-Angle VElocity Selector spectrometer), is a neutron spectrometer that can select the velocity (that is, the wavelength) of detected neutrons after they are scattered by a sample. It is the first inverted geometry spectrometer where the energy of detected neutrons can be chosen mechanically by a wide-angle velocity selector, irrespective of limitations imposed by crystal analyzers or filters.

CENTAUR will be a small- and wide-angle neutron scattering (SANS/WANS) instrument with diffraction and spectroscopic capabilities to simultaneously probe time-resolved atomic- to meso-scale structures in hierarchical systems under in situ or in operando conditions. Simultaneous SANS/WANS and diffraction capabilities will be a unique capability among neutron scattering instruments in the United States.

CHESS will be a direct-geometry neutron spectrometer designed to detect and analyze weak signals intrinsic to small cross-sections, such as small mass, small magnetic moments or neutron absorbing materials. The instrument will be optimized to enable studies on quantum materials, spin liquids, thermoelectrics, battery materials, superconductors, and liquids.

CHESS will be the spectrometer of choice for initial exploration of new materials. Its broad dynamic range will also be well suited for measuring relaxation processes and excitations in soft and biological matter.

CUPI2D (Complex, Unique and Powerful Imaging Instrument for Dynamics) is designed to combine direct and indirect imaging across a broad range of length and time scales. The instrument combines Bragg edge imaging and neutron grating interferometry. CUPI2D is designed for applications that involve length scales from angstroms to micrometers, and time scales from minutes to hours. Leveraging the high flux of cold neutrons from the high-brightness STS cylindrical moderator, CUPI2D permits in situ and in operando experiments.

EXPANSE (EXPanded Angle Neutron Spin Echo) is designed to conduct high-energy resolution studies (neV to μeV) of dynamic processes across a broad range of materials. The wide-angle detector banks will provide a coverage of nearly two orders of magnitude in scattering wave numbers and approximately four orders of magnitude in Fourier times. The instrument will offer unique capabilities , such as direct measurements of slow dynamics in a time domain over simultaneous wide Q-ranges for time-resolved spectroscopic studies.
