Hehe, not that I've got a lack of friends or anything, but most of them
are either already overseas or they follow the Ozzie education schedule,
which means they have classes at this time of the year..... so I was
wondering, is there anyone in the Klang Valley area (except for Klang!)
who is feeling the snooker itch and wouldn't mind meeting up with a
crazed stranger for a game? :)

Yeah, I'm really bored :)

This is no a story. It happens in Singapore today to me in my house.

 

This morning 3 gentlemen from SINGAPORE SUBORDINATE COURTS BAILIFFS SECTION came into my HDB house. They came with WRIT OF SEIZURE & SALE NO. 5287 OF 1999.

 

They seized items like TVs, Computer System, Regifrirator, Table & Chair. These seized properties they value at $900.00 Singapore Dollars. These property they want to auction it on 5th day of October 1999.

 

Do you know what is happening? Is the bank sues me to bankrupt? Wrong. Is Government sues me for never pay tax or fine? Not likely. Is Loan Shark want me to pay loan plus interest? Impossible. They are Bailiff from SINGAPORE SUBORDINATE COURTS. 

 

Let me tell you the fact, as what I can remember.

At first it was a very beauty story. It happened many years (I am not sure, may be 10 or 15 years) ago .

A friend (actual just a pen-pal but still a friend) from Malaysia Cameron Highland took his son to Singapore. His son was admitted to study a short course in VITB (under EDB). He called me from DBS Building and requested me be there for some assistances. There I was asked to be a guardian as requested by normal formality for his son.

 

Frankly specking my friend and me both English is not so good to read and understand what condition stated. I even didn't have a copy of paper I signed. So until today, I am not sure what I did on that day. What I remember is I helped a friend's son, so he is able to fulfill his study in VITB.

 

For long time afterward I received no news about that matter, until one day EDB (or VITB I'm not sure) called me to inform my friend's to interview. I remembered his son accepted a job offered to him. After again long time no further news to me. I didn't receive any letter from VITB more than 2 years.

 

I don't know how the relationship between VITB or ITV, nor a lawyer firm involve in later stage. If they say I can always engage a lawyer to defend. First at all I don't understand by what proper reason I must be sued.

They even never write to me explain what happen actually. Some time ago, as requested by VITB, I remember I assisted them to get a new address (according to a friend in Kuala Lumpur). And also asked whether they did go through Malaysia Court Service.

 

Personally I think as course fee is few thousand dollars only. Secondly it is for education for our region country. Moreover I was told the boy had came back twice for interview (under VITB). I am hardly believe our VITB (now ITE I was told today) or MOE want the claim this money after many years. They should claim immediately (if necessary) after the boy finished his course. Either through our embassy in Kuala Lumpur or through Malaysia Court. After so many years now bring this case make meaningless and embarrassing. It also wasting Bailiff time and expenses. This morning I read from NOTICE OF SEIZURE states amount due under writ is $21,442.74 now. You can see how much money and men power wasted for interest, court fee, lawyer fee and etc.

 

In America, lawyers use to have prearrangement with plaintiff. Share either base on agreed percentage of amount recover, or plaintiff get the basic compensation and the less belong to lawyers. I don't think Singapore allows to practice like America. In business viewpoint. If I invest some businesses, I will stop invest when I found the future is not worth to continue. I think this is Jew's business strategy. Our Chinese proverb also says "loss less is win".

 

I help the boy because of his father. Off course also because it is educational matter, and both of them was already in Singapore DBS office. In the other hand, because of overlook the conditions of agreement written in English also count. Maybe that time I never realize such "Education Loan"is so "commercial or business minded".

 

I am not going to spends money for another lawyer. Because eventually either VITB or me are still losers.

I am not "Kia Su" because I did the right thing. I need not to run away, but I have prepared to jail.

I am not a politician. But this case look alike Mr Tang's case, they intend to seize my house property also, to threaten me fulfill their wish. I hardly believe this can happen in such so called Democratic Singapore. I can let people outside to see how unreasonable, stinging institute, how lawyer act as Debts Collector and SUING also can represent Singapore.

 

For the above reasons I like to post it to all:

1. To alert every Singaporean don't anyhow to act for someone as guarantor and so on. Read carefully

    or be a "Kia Su" Singaporean is better then "Helpful Singaporean".

 

2. Singapore's "Educational Loan" is not donation or for education.  Is another kind of business  

    investment. What another kind means unlike business activities there are risks and may be

    loss, this "Educational Loan" is Sure Make and safe. The reason is :

        a. Applicant they selected is always good student with good future and high income in future. 

        b. Besides student signs bond and conditions, at least two qualified persons to be guarantors.

        c. Return of loan, interest, penalty and other relevant expenses stated in agreement must pay.

   I would like to advise young boy never  think to take loan from bank of organization. Read condition

   carefully if any Education Loan or Scholarship offer to you. Don't make your family or friends as 

   guarantor, prevent any trouble happen to them.

really?

i travel from PJ to Klang every weekend, about two times per week (one to ge
there, and one to get back). it only takes about 25 minutes of my time to get
there - not very long right?

shah alam is around 15 mintues from the part of PJ that i'm in. then again, the
part that i stay in PJ is very centralised, i can reach everything pretty fast.

btw, 25 minutes from PJ --> Klang is via no expressway. its just by the
standard plus bullshit road.

so, klang is ok. Sepang on the other hand is totally far from PJ :-)
