Why doesn't Maxis has the courtesy to inform the public that it cannot
afford to extend its mobile service to Sabah? Last week I had to go to
Labuan, KK and Kundasang for an assignment. I brought along my Maxis
mobile phone. And I was very disappointed there was no service there.
So I had to urgently register with Celcom 019, and what a surprise, I
could use the phone all the way to Kundasang and even in Kinabalu Park,
which I considered as a very remote place. Bravo Celcom, and shame to
you Maxis.
By the way, how is Celcom going to charge me now? I registered the line
in KK and now I am back in Penang. Are all my calls from Penang
considered as outstation?

Wondering whether only 019 works in Kinabalu Park or other mobile phone
services too? Can 013 work there?

I'm climbing Mt. Kinabalu in 2 weeks time and I would love to be able to
call home from the peak.

Anyone has the pleasure of calling back from Low's Peak using handphone?

Your family from Penang calling you (No matter where you are) are
considered Penang --> KK.
Your friend in KK calling you no matter where you are are considered
local call. Pretty much covered all the combination of it.

Prepaid Celcom service is quite bad in remote area in Sarawak
(Samarahan, Limbang, Lawas), not sure about the rest of the place. You
get full bar signal, but calling to Celcom Prepaid tell you that the
phone is out of coverage. Usually happens during night time.

Ever tried getting a home phone line with Maxis? Being 'Passed the buck' is
an Extremely grotesque understatement.

Your information is very detailed. Have you been collecting Celcom's base
station IDs, Wilson? Good job! :-)
