I forget the answer at the moment, but I think it's answered in CNBC's
documentary on the Story of Wall Street, which they seem to run every
time the market has a holiday. Next holiday is Good Friday, March 29.

Because when stocks are down there is usually a lot of male bovine fecal
matter flying around, and when stocks are up the bulls can't bear it any
longer.

BULLS: The strutting around we do when our picks go up.
OLE!

BEARS: The silent moping and hibernation we go into when it does poorly.
Bears are usually found sifting through garbage.

Robert Kiyosaki explains the difference between a Bull market and a Bear
market in his book "Rich dad's Guide to Investing." He says, that a Bull
market is a market the is going up slowly. Like a bull trying to go up a
flight of stairs. A Bear market is one that's going down quickly like a
bear that jumps out of a window.
