Hi,

Today I have uploaded the new code for supporting volunteers. I have checked the source code in my computers, but it will be interesting to test it a bit more in other institutions, so please, feel free to download the source code and update your Jarifa site.

The code basically adds a link in the front page of Jarifa for anonymous or volunteer users. From there, they can create an account. We should add a captcha like www.recaptcha.com, but I don't know if I can add that one without violating the AGPL 3.0.

The volunteers, can create as many accounts as they want. However, they cannot log in.

Check it out, and tell me your opinions.

Daniel

Hi,

why do they have to create an account that they can't use? Why not
publish the account details for an anonymous user that volunteers can
use to attach there clients to Jarifa? This account can also not login.

Or do we have to create an account for each user for statistical
reasons? As the user can't login they also can't see the stats.

Regards
Christian

That's an option, but institutions love numbers :) All institutions will want to know how many anonymous users are collaborating with them, for example students from the University. The volunteer account now has only an small set of functions. It is obvious that I have to create a user interface, where they can check their credit, stats, etc. I have to develop that, but for now, the urge was to let them join us ;)

Well, I think I have responded you above ;)

Hi,

Today I have implemented the log in facility for Volunteer users. Now they can see their machines. This update, needs to upgrade your existing database, upgrade carefully.
