Dear All Residents,
In reply to the trailing mail, please see my comments.
Residents will be angry because every one's time is wasted and now it is clearly understood that Mr. Seshadri wants to grab attention of every one and hence such kind of mail. I hope he has lots of free time at home and does not know how to spend the time. He has once written that he would never write an e-mail in this group and kept quiet for some time. Again he has started. It must be noted that just because his son interfered and requested apology and assured that Mr. Seshadri would not interfere anymore, COM left it at that.
ON STP
1. I believe he has not understood the functioning of STP despite is > 40 years of experience.
2. Air Contains 78% Nitrogen and 21% Oxygen and Less than 1% is the other gases.
3. No where perfect oxidation occurs. As it was also mentioned by Mr. Balakrishnan, it is considered to use maximum 6% and in practical it will not consume even 3% of oxygen. And when this comes out, it mixes with open air and it is considered as null contribution to contamination. Hence considering that, there is no alarm of such Carbon Dioxide coming out of STP and creating a danger to human life. Incidentally Mr. Vittal had a very long life living very adjacent to the STP which every one of us know.
4. Even in Automobile Engines, Kitchen stove etc, we always supply excess air and the effluent gases contain 10% oxygen and after mixing with surrounding air, the CO2 contamination becomes null and void. If Mr. Seshadri's argument is considered true, all of us will die when we do cooking or walk on the main road. The case would be worst in a bus terminus where too much of CO2 is let out.
5. As per building standards, the CO2 concentration in open atmosphere is about 400 ppm and it must not go more than 700 ppm in air conditioned buildings which is due to air re-cycling and human breathing. Fresh air to be mixed accordingly. Probably Mr. Seshadri lives in air conditioned flat and not doing proper monitoring and hence there may be a problem. Hence it is a must that he verifies his air conditioning system.
6. Before writing any further mail, it is better Mr. Seshadri has to take an air sample at the top of STP, outside his window and inside his air conditioned room for CO2 and come back with the result and talk about the CO2, Green House Gases etc. And when he takes such sample, let it be witnessed by the COM so that there is no forgery at a later date.
7. There is no point in talking about USA, UK etc. We are living in Jaihind Apartments and ned to know what is required for that.
On Accounts
1. I believe Mr. Seshadri is not the accounting expert in India. He was handling accounts till 20 years before in an industry and may be in JARA till 2004.
2. There are many methods to do accounting and it depends on the purpose to which it is accounted. And a person having accounting knowledge of a manufacturing company may not have in depth knowledge of accounting for banks and financial institutions.
3. JARA is not a company and the accounts need not be prepared the way in which it is prepared for companies where the profit and loss and balance sheets are to be prepared for the purpose of external loans.
4. JARA accounts are handled by a Charted Accountant and in case Mr. Seshadri needs to understand anything, he can talk to the CA rather than accusing the COM. Instead of requesting for a visit of CA and going to JARA office and sitting and discussing, writing mails and accusing COM is definitely unacceptable behaviour at an age of 80.
Past COM actions
1. Mr. Seshadri felt that the whole COM has to manage JARA as per his instructions. When the COM was independently managing without his guidelines, he is upset and hence started accusing and blackmailing.
2. On one of his allegation of mis-handling JARA money, every COM office bearer felt their integrity is at stake and issued a circular that they "would stop functioning" with immediate notice and requested Mr. Seshadri to come forward and work. COM has never mentioned that they would "resign". After all managing JARA for four years and because of one baseless mail, naturally everyone would feel hurt and would go to the level of challenging him.
3. COM continued the normal activities even after issuing a notice to "stop functioning". Every resident must understand that it is easy to switch off everything and put everyone in trouble but it was not done.
4. So quoting "ENMASS RESIGNATION" is not right anymore and usage of such words need to be ignored.
5. Also such notice was given only because of baseless allegation by Mr. Seshadri questioning the integrity and not due to any constructive advise or suggestion.
About going to Authorities
1. Before going to any authority, it is better to see what is outside surrounding all of us.
2. We have 100s of Apartments in our locality and it is a must to know who is doing what. When it is clear that not even 5% of such apartments follow procedures as JARA follows, what is the point in talking about the procedures etc.
3. When we go to the CO-OP society for registration / renewal, they even said it is not required since they are under staffed and they have many other priorities. Just because we said, we want all procedures, they accepted.
4. Assume a case that I go and disturb the Police Inspector and complain that my neighbour is hitting me and force him to come, he would come and make all his formalities first, prior to even understand what is the problem. This is because, they are busy in many other activities and not such petty issues. This needs to be understood first.
5. Same way, if Mr. Seshadri goes to authorities, just because of his age etc and his hurting talks, officers would come to JARA and it would take too much of time to show all paper works. This would definitely eat lot of time for COM. And it is an irritation.
6. If we consider rules strictly, all cars in the passage must be taken out since it is all the free area as per FSI. Builder has not made any dedicated car park. The free area as per FSI is provided only for people free movement, has to be vacated. Will all the residents agree to do the same? Even Mr. Seshadri can not agree to that. Even he does not want his two wheeler to be parked in a different location in Delta Block area and wanted it exactly under his balcony.
7. If we consider the rule clearly, the DG set is not to 100% perfect norms. Authorities coming for inspection would cease the DG set and all residents would suffer. Can this be accepted?
8. STP is constructed in the area of FSI and not accepted. There is nothing mentioned in the building permit. A proper inspection means, STP would be shut down. It would enable Sewage evacuation daily by truck and would have monthly cost of Rs. 3000 in addition to the present maintenance. Also it would make one side passage unavailable for car parking to ease out sewage truck movement. Is this acceptable to every resident.
9. Hence every such action of Mr. Seshadri will have an unexpected reaction and hence previous COM clearly indicated that he is SOLELY responsible for any of the consequences.
On his Challenge
1. Is it really worth Rs. 10,000 /- from his side for such a huge challenge? This is a pea-nut for him. After putting everyone in trouble, he would simply say sorry and pay Rs. 10,000 /- and walk away cool. What is the compensation to the people who toiled? A challenge should be costly like transferring all assets etc..
On COM wanting to quit
1. The previous COM wanted a change since no one has responsibility to take care of JARA. It must be noted that the previous COM can't handle this life long and they to have family and personal life.
2. Many residents came to AGM and not accepting the responsibility even now. Does this mean that the present COM has to continue for the benefit of everyone and all would relax and find fault with the COM.
3. When Mr. Seshadri writes so many mails with baseless allegations, no one came forward to support the COM. Even people who shouted against Mr. Seshadri in AGM, have not even made a telephonic call and enquired what happened. Everyone thinks that in an AGM we will shout against Mr. Seshadri and praise the COM and the innocent COM would continue and we can live happily for one more year? Hence COM felt that it is responsibility of everyone to come forward and manage JARA and understand all facts.
4. Certainly it is not an act of coward by the previous COM. In case any of the member COM decides to relocate, what would happen? In case in an year, more than one COM member relocates, what would happen? Others would not even know how to manage. Hence COM wanted everyone to have the experience of managing JARA. It is not a fear against Mr. Seshadri.
Finally one word to Mr. Seshadri. There is no point in "standing by JARA". JARA is simply a title which has 104 people in the list. What is more important is the people who live in JARA. If he considers as "standing by residents of JARA", he would not talk like this. He forgets that people are more important than the title. First he needs to socialise himself by meeting everyone in our premises and generate cordial lifestyle. By challenging in 2 vs 102 race, what is achieved? even if he wins, what is the gain for him except the ego satisfaction but at the cost of curse of everyone.
Please see elders like Mr. Govindan, Mr. Lakshmi Narasimhan, etc. Even children of less than 10 years old are very friendly with them and respect them. Certainly such a harmonious relationship has to be built by elders in JARA. Not by generating rebellion atmosphere. And Mr. Seshadri needs to understand that for any problem there are 102 people along with him to face and no one would leave him stranded. For that he needs to build relationship with all. not by fighting.
In spite of all factors, if still he feels himself right and continues to write such allegations, I suggest please remove his mail id from this group as he himself pointed out once.
And henceforth, let this email forum need to be used for any constructive discussions like waste management, possibility of solar power, water status, improving security measures, better housekeeping etc. not like this kind of meaningless trailing mails.
Regards,
Swaminathan
