Dear Residents,
Further to notice sent to all residents on 14-Jun-2017 regarding COM quit functioning with effect from 16-Jun-2017, 08:00 am onwards
The matter was discussed with (the representative of) the concerned resident who had raised certain issues which resulted in a string of emails and much acrimony. A number of allegations were made in these emails against COM and there were counter arguments. However, the COM would like to mention that the acrimony was between the individual members only and the COM, as such, did not make any such remarks against anyone.
The COM was constrained to issue notice regarding ceasing to function because of certain unwarranted and unjustified accusations and insinuations made against the COM.
The representative of the resident concerned had face to face discussion with COM and agreed the whole email acrimony was unwarranted and assured that such scenario shall not repeat and requested COM to continue functioning and based on his request, the COM accepted to continue functioning. Accordingly, the COM will continue to function as usual and would strive to serve the members to the best of its ability.
However, there are certain matters which need to be brought to the notice of the Residents of JARA in regard to the manner in which their complaints and grievances have to be conveyed to the COM.
The Bye-laws specifies the duties of Residents and if the same had been scrupulously observed, the current unpleasant situation could have been avoided. The COM would like to reiterate the following -
(a) All residents are expected to participate in the deliberations of the Annual General Body meeting, and then only, there will be awareness & commitment on their part towards the decisions taken thereof. At present, from the kind of attendance in the AGM, it is clear that majority of the members do not even bother to participate in the AGM and therefore feel no commitment towards the decisions thereof. Though they may abide by the decisions, the involvement is absent. This needs to be remedied.
(b) We may like to mention that even after issue of the notice about the COM ceasing to function, only a few members bothered to make enquiries and others remained unconcerned. This kind of apathy is very regrettable.
(c) As managing day-to-day functions of the Association is a man-management problem, any deficiency in service need to be brought to the notice of the COM - but in polite and civil terms.
(d) The members of the COM are functioning in a honorary capacity and they are not servants of the Association and its members. The members of the COM have their own families to look after and whatever time they manage to spend for JARA activities, is only by making certain sacrifices towards their family commitments. Therefore, Residents of JARA have to be polite and civil in conveying their complaints and grievances.
(e) In case any resident considers that there is a lapse by the COM, the concerned resident should have sufficient (documentary) proof before making any accusations and insinuations. In the absence of such proof, the accusations and insinuations would be treated as abuse; therefore the COM would naturally feel constrained to seek remedy.
Finally for the present COM will continue functioning till AGM 2018, all residents are requested to understand their commitment to JARA and extend utmost cooperation to make it more cordial and smooth.

Madam,

My full support is always to the committee. when we could not have time and patience to do common service. It is not correct  to find fault in all activities. It is not that I should not give my support to the com. Since already so many mail is going I do not want to add fuel to the same. One more suggestion in future, if any short fall or any complaints it should be directly brought to the notice of the committee not through group mail. If it is possible our by law can be changed accordingly.

Once again my full support is the com.

Thanking you,

J.NAGARAJAN.
