From London to Tokyo, a designer's project

I wanted to present myself and make a First Contact.
I'm Swiss-French studying Graphic Design (experimental typography and
editorial design) at the LCP (London College of Printing).
This year is my third and last year and I took the decision a year ago to
leave for Japan as soon as I graduate.
I'm starting my second year of Japanese and I'm really looking forward to
get there.
I want to find a job as a graphic designer in Tokyo, in one of the many
studios there, frequently featured online or in IDEA mag, etc...
I have started contacting a lot of studios in Tokyo by sending out messages
to these people reversing the situation and asking them how they would do to
find a job if they were in my situation, hoping that they would require my
help and my skills when I get there. As part of the Visa policies, I have to
find a job there before I go and have the employer to request for a work
permit. Japan is everything to me right now, I know it is the next step in
my life so I try to organise myself as well as possible before I go. And
meeting people through email is part of it. That was the first stage of my
project.
I got a few answers and even managed to start a discussion with an editor of
Idea mag, but you know how it is, most people didn't reply.
So now I want to go on the second stage of my search.
I have put up a web page where I give the news of how my project is going on
so that people can follow, but I need some more exposure.

I thought I would post a message here you and see what we could do.
I think it is an interesting project as most people would think the
situation is impossible.
Lopetz from Buro Destruct has just written a book (narita Inspected) on
these studios, so there is an interest, and he is even going back for 6 more
month next summer he told me. But I guess we are only 2 to try to attempt
that, and he is already established...
Anyway, long email... I would like to get some kind of discussion going on,
I want to meet as many people as I can until I find somebody with a
solution...
I am meeting Graham Wood from Tomato next week to discuss about that.
I really hope that you can take some time to try to help me. ;-)
Has any of you heard of some European company planning on opening a branch
in Tokyo again or anything...? ;-)
