In my case it's a toshiba satellite 2450. On it is impossible to boot from
cd because it's impossible to modify the boot options (in example pressing
F12 at startup to choose the device to boot). Then in windows xp, in the
control panel, the toshiba hardware setup program request a password. The
password was forgotten. How can I solve this problem? I want to boot from
cd to reinstall the os. Thanks.

Its supposed to be a new security measure to make it impossible to reset the
password, and it certainly is.
I have tried every way known to mankind and still it defies me.
Can anyone explain how/why it works and any possible way around this?
