just watched the english dub of EoE. In Misato's death sceen she mutters she
should have changed the carpet like Auska said. Anyone knows what shes
refering to?

Welcome, but stop over-analyzing. It was a rare moment of levity, sandwiched
between her final (on Earth, at least) good-bye to Shinji, and her getting
blown to tiny bits.

Sorry, I was'nt implying a deeper meaning. I realise it was meant to be
humorous, the kind of thought brough on by the blood loss. I was just
wondering if it was refering to a insident in the seriers that I've since
forgotten.
I just got done watching the series s few weeks back and don't feel
emotionly strong enough to rent it again yet to look for this reference.

Hmm, I see what you're asking, but no, I don't think it is referring to
anything prior. Of course, I own only the movies and not the episodes, so I
can't be sure. Was that your first time seeing the series?

Yes. I rented the series on vhs tape from my local comic store 1 or 2 tapes
a night (13 tapes watched twice) then rented EoE Death and Rebirth DVD.
Then I couldn't wait the month till EoE came out so I downloaded the
fan-sub, watched it about 5 times. Then hit the websites, faqs, fanfics, and
this newsgroup to try to make sense of it all.(once again Thankyou to all
here) And finnally watched the english release 3 times this weekend on
rented dvd.
So all in all I've lost like 4 weeks of my life to this amazing piece
of trainwreck voyerizm. I'm devided on if I ever want to own the whole thing
someday . It's so emotionly draining I'm kind glad it's over with.

It's been a while since I watched the series (getting the dvd boxset
and a three month holiday pretty soon -- that'll remedy the situation)
so i cant cite a specific episode, but unless i'm completely imagining
it Asuka did make a comment about changing the carpet. I think it was
early on in her time at Nerv, but like I said I wouldn't remember.
Pretty sure she said it though, because the scene occurred to me when
this happened in EoE.

Hmm, my two cents on the subject is this:

When someone is in a lot of pain, and on the verge of death, sometimes even
the most weirdest things are noticable,
like in some of the Ads for Road accidents here in australia, a guy has gone
offroad, and while you here hime moving around and trying to breathe, the
radio is still playing a country soung. The small things often have a way of
coming out at these times.

I guess also because Misato was face down to the carpet, that would have
caused her to say something about it.
