Does Evangelion come in a uncut verison? A friend say that it does!! I
think it the Director's Cut not an uncut verison. Who right and what
is new in the director's cut?
Thank you,
Kent

The director's cut is the normal series on DVD (and VHS??), but four
episodes (21-24) have extra scenes to try to further explain the series.
As for an uncut version, I've not heard of anything of this sort, your
friend may be reffering to the director's cut episodes.

I wish there was an uncut version that showed what exactly Misato and
Asuka were doing to each other at the end of episode 8... ;)

At least you could have changed the Subject.

The japanese equivalent of カヲル is Kaworu
(http://www.gainax.co.jp/anime/eva/chara.html), but the pronunciation is
Kaoru.
The WO character is pronounced as O in ON , it's an old character that
survives as a grammar marker and in a few names.

It's 'Kaworu'. Notice the spelling of his name on the entry plugs of
the MP Evas in EoE...

I would suspect that the actual spelling is Kaoru. Nowadays (and I even
believe even back when NGE was created), there is no longer a character
for "wo" in Hiragana. There might be one possibly in Kanji. If not (and
the name is written in Hiragana), then the name would be Kaoru, and it
would be written ka - o - ru (3 characters). The spelling Kaworu was
created during the translation to simulate the way it would be
pronounced in English.

Then again, I may be completely wrong, as I'm only in my second year of
Japanese.

You mean this character, Tessai?

を (wo)

Still in heavy use today... :-P~

Anyway, back to the topic, I'd have to agree and say that his name is would
be spelt ka - o - ru (かおる). That's what I hear when I watch my DVDs
anyway.
