Interesting enough I noticed that Kaji knew that the being that he
brought to Gendo was Adam. But here's the real question:

Why did he say Lilith on her cross was Adam to Misato and Shinji, when
he new that Adam did not "grow" that much in 15 years (even though he
was encased in Bache-lite)?

He DID think that was Adam. Adam was frozen for 15 years and he just assumed
that he had grown to that size that quickly.
