Seems he's pretty ignorant about anime in general. Goes to show how stupid
these idiots really are that work in the american entertainment industry.
Look at how many critics they have for movies alone, they all have dumb
reasons for liking or disliking things. TV Guide is a dumbass magazine
anyways, same goes for shows like Access Hollywood, or Entertainment
Tonight, they all have the same goal, promote everything, make pointless
interviews, and make as much cash doing it. Even disney, oh my god, how many
sequels to the animated classics have they made already???? Promotion, after
promotion after promotion.
Lets wait a few years until anime is popular as hell. Then his opinion
will take a u-turn and he'll be praising it like a freakin' otaku!

Hey, who says guys can't like my little pony! (okay, got me there)

From the same guys who promote America's new war in Iraq.

Just a bit off topic... wouldn't you hate it if anime was really popular?
Everyone would be like, "yeah, annimie is soo cool, dude, them
Chinese are great at doing stuff like Akira" and you'd say "First of all,
it's anime, secondly, it's Japanese, thirdly, Akira isn't _that_ good,"
and they'd say "Heh, yeah, you just like that Evangelion crap." And you'd
say "Look, i've liked anime for ten times longer than you, and you think
you can tell me what to like?" And they'd say "Yeah, whatever."
And it wouldn't be as fun.
I see you don't support the administration's efforts to make Iraq comply with the post-Gulf War ceasefire agreement. Care to
elaborate why?

Iraq didn't violate any ceasefire... George Bush claims it hasn't complied
with orders to cease weapon production, even though weapon inspectors
haven't found anything alarming. Bush is just looking for an excuse to
attack.

Precicely! Dubya's lookin' to settle the score with Hussain, basically
finishing what his father started 12 years ago. What I'd like to know is:
How in the name of NERV is he planning to pay for it AND cut taxes? I'm
telling you, the man is going to be a single-termer, just like Bush, Sr. The
Question is: Who will replace him?

One word : OIL!
Well, that certainly is quite vague. Baby oil? Olive oil? What about oil?? O_o
Absolutly. After all, if we had a non-OPEC petroleum source, the
upper-classes could drive those monster SUVs without worry. Hell, who'd care
about emmisions and fuel economy then (beside the
"Fringe" environmentalists)?

Like it would matter. He's going to be a single-termer, regardless of what
he does.

Well, so far, war concernes seem to be making things worse instead of
better. Seems every time Iraq becomes the main topic in the news, the market
goes south.

Oh, he'll go in the history books, just not how he's going to want to be

That dependes on what kinda loser the democrats pick. Some conspericy nuts
say the secret government picks the canadates so the know which party will
win. I'm begining to agree with them.

The worse part is his rich friends win no matter how things turn out.

Historicly that is common for the short term. After the production lines
start cranking out batches of cruise missles at $10 million a pop things
tended to get better. Wait and see, maybe the core has rotted away too badly
to paint over it this time.

I used to be republican, still registed as such but rarely vote for any. The
democrats have nice goals without the backbone to make them happen.
DAM YOU TO HELL Ross Perot! He was our best chance to break the status-qou
till he dropped out, even if was nuts.
If any Brits are reading, how does your goverment funtion with all those
different parties? Does it seem to work better than having two fighting
against each other instead of getting things done?
No problem.

Well, the tech industry should staballize here eventually: after all, so
much of our way of life depends on electronics. I just hope they don't all
decide to move all manufacturing oversees.

I've already seen an article in "Harper's Magazine" describing Dubya as
"...the worst President in history...", I'd say something along those lines.

I'm not so sure the Brits have it any better than we do. Anyone wanna take a
shot at this?
Vaughn L.Porter
Of course, that's just my opinion,
I could be wrong.
Ok so we have a pro-euro prime minister whose wife seems to make all his
major decisions, an opposition that can't find its arse with both hands and
satellite navigation , a justice system that seems to protect the criminal
rather than the victim, and a health system that every time they try and fix
it by throwing money at it seems to grow another dozen levels of management,
but I like it here, our economy is buoyant we've got ;low inflation and
unemployment .and we can fell superior to just about everyone else
And I have to say I disagree with most of the anti war faction, any
government that loses eight thousand gallons of anthrax, uses chemical and
biolgical weapons on its own people, and is ruled by an insane madman with a
seventies pornstar 'tash really should be removed
In other words, business as usual. Although I think we Yanks have the
"Superior to everyone else" mentality even more than you folks.

On that, I will agree. Still, I doubt Dubya is thinking along those terms;
more likely he's thinking, as stated earlier in this thread, that he can
make a name for himself in the history books, get re-elected in '04, and
avenge his father in one fell swoop.
True. I hate it when peple think they know more than you just because they
heard about it a little while ago. I think that's why people on the internet
and stuff came up with the term "newbie". New people are always welcome as long
as they show respect to the one's who came before them. It's called paying
respect to your elders, and new people that don't understand that deserve the
stigma that surrounds the word "newbie". I'd be all right if anime got popular,
just as long as everyone admits that all the otakus now were right in their
tastes, and everyone new is not arrogant enough to think that they know more
than us.
