soul in eva 02... ?

hello everybody,

i have a little question...
we all know that asuka's mother souli in eva02, but what i dont get is how
she got in it.
when i remembmer about the series we just see that asuka's mother is nuts
and commits suicide...
but did she work for NERV? how did her soul got into the EVA?

Well, to be fair, YUI's soul was in Eva 01, but that wasnt the Eva she died
in either. She was "erased" in one of the earlier prototype Eva's (the ones
littering final dogma).

Well, there's argument over whether Asuka's mother's soul really /is/ in
Unit-02, or whether Asuka's just crazy...

But assuming the former, yes, Asuka's mother did work in the Evangelion
project. In episode 22 they refer to a "contact experiment" and then Kyoko's
mental breakdown following. I've heard the most general train of thought is
that perhaps Unit-02 absorbed a /part/ of Kyoko, and she, unable to
function, had a mental breakdown and went mad, leaving part of herself in
Unit-02.

But like most things in Evangelion, we don't really know.

Um...no she wasn't. Yui was absorbed into Unit-01 in her first test with it.
