Yes I know its quite a cliche message you could expect from a newbie in
the group; sue me :P

I wish you all a good holliday season and a very good upcoming 2004
(pretty pre-mature eh?).

Anyone else got the upcoming director cut DVD's in preorder ? ;-)

I don't know what it is but EVA has been an MPEG experience for me most
of the time ;) The stuff started with the 'perfect collection' DVD box
which I looked through in one week. And like all good films and series
that wasn't enough, because I still keep discovering things and details
in certain episodes. The rate is gettign lower because I've seen every
episode at least 5 times now, but still...

So EoE was coming out. And I got that pre-ordered from Amazon but the
curiosity got the best of me. So I managed to grab EoE in mpg format (2
parts). And the first time I saw EoE was in Japanese, playing on my
laptop, with the screen put to the TV and the sound coming fromt he
laptop. That, gentleman, was one heck of an experience.

At a later time Death/Rebirth and EoE shipped and I also watched those,
but there's NOTHING like that first time.

And in that very way I'm looking forward to the director cuts. I've seen
a lot of those already in mpg's I collected, now its time for the real
thing.

PS: (Chaotic message isn't it? ;)) What was your favorise episode? ;)
I'm wondering if this hasn't been asked before, if it is please ignore
this one ;)

One of my absolute favorites is where Ramiel (the diamond) attacks. I
keep forgetting the name of the episode but it so rocks IMO. Not too
much action, but building up the anti climax. Getting to see
*everything* in detail, the battle plan, the aquisittion of the gun...

"But Madam, calculations have shown that it will take at least
180gigawatt to fire that gun, where exactly do you plan to get that much
electricity?" "Where you do think I'll get it? All over Japan!!"

Second best one? Angel Invasion; where the Magi are being taken over...

I can _so_ relate to the situation in which Misato is placed when
Ritsuko suddenly starts talking about some things and Misato simply is
overtaken by it... "Well... you're rather talkative today.." "About
some things"...

This series is soo good....

Merry Christmas to all of you too, Xian or not. My favorite episode?
"Both of You, Dance Like You Want to Win!" Not only does it have one of
the more creative battlescenes of the series, but I also consider it the
high point of NERV's success before everything starts falling apart. I
prefer to think of the series more or less as a monolithic whole,
however, anyway.

I know I wish the special editions had been coming out a month earlier
so they could have been Christmas gifts...

Oh, nevermind then. I'd be buried under the lawyer fees, so it wouldn't be
worth it. :-P~
