Hi
I'd like to add a stream in Jangouts as a webrtc partecipant, in order to stream a video device like a movie or a running software through a video grabber connected to a computer hdmi port.
I tried to use vlc to stream a video to janus and It is working and I can see the video by mean of the streaming plugin  demo.

Do you think it is possible?

Thank you
Paolo

to Paolo Marcheschi, jangouts
As the someone said once - "impossible is nothing"[1]. :-)

Jangouts is basically a client for the videoroom plugin of Jangouts. If you can "insert" that stream as a regular videoroom participant, it would be very easy in our side.

On the other hand, if you need Jangouts to talk directly with the streaming plugin that would imply more work in Jangouts, although we would be glad to guide you.

Repeating the same in a more graphical way...

This would be trivial in the Jangouts side (I don't know whether is possible/easy in the Janus one):

streamer -> streaming plugin -> videoroom plugin <--> Jangouts

And this would imply quite some Javascript coding

streamer -> streaming plugin  <---> Jangouts  <--->  videoroom plugin

Cheers

Hi
Thank you.
I do not need the streaming plugin, obviously if there is an easier method , I will be happy to embrace it.
in order to connect to jangouts as a webrtc partecipant is there a spimple tool to achieve that ?
We are not developers and the javascript solution is far away.
Thank you
Paolo
