Hey...thanks for this patch! My controller works great.

I was just curious if you knew why the normal xpad driver doesn't work
well with the controller. I've noticed that if I leave the controller
plugged in while booting, the computer hangs. Are there any solutions
to these issues?

Asher,
Thanks alot and glad to know someone else is using it!
The normal xpad driver just didnt support the ID and type, I am
assuming due to the bugs like the one you mentioned. I just added
some quick and dirty support. I'll try to work on it again in the
next few days. For reference what kernel version are you using?
Thanks,
Ben

I was using Hardy Heron, which is Linux kernel 2.6.24, and it worked
fine except for the problems at start-up. I'm about to upgrade to
Intrepid Ibex, so I'll let you if anything changes.

This didn't compile on Ubuntu Jaunty (kernel 2.6.28) because it looks
like some 'kernel internals' have changed.
So I created a new patch (based on the existing patch) to create an
xpad.c (xpad.h no longer needed) for the 2.6.28 kernel that works with
the rockband guitar.
You only need to add xpad to /etc/modules, and it now doesn't hang at
bootup!

I've added my modified files to the "Files" section.
