Important Package Updates

Hi guys!

I started using Jam few days ago. Really really great project!
But I'm running in trouble with some packages that aren't being updated.

Some of these packages are Backbone and Underscore.
Backbone's current version is 1.1.2, but in Jam repository the current version is 1.0.0.
Underscore's current version is 1.6.0, but in Jam repository the current version is 1.4.4 (!).

The problem with these packages is that, prior to version 1.6.0, Underscore did not support requirejs. As a result, when you do jam compile, you got problems with Module name "underscore" has not been loaded yet for context: _. Use require([]) error.

I would appreciate if anyone responsible for Backbone.js and Underscore.js could update these packages to the latest versions.

be waiting on anyone to update them. Would that work?

Hey,

I ran into the same problem last few months ago and I decided to host our own jam repository in-house. That was not very nice solution, indeed.

It would be great if we have 2 tracks:

- Official: What we have today with packages are maintained by owners/maintainers.

- Community: Everyone can update the packages.
