Hi all,
I've started looking at JamVM again, and I am currently focusing on
that, instead of the JAmiga VM. I posted my progress on amigans.net
(see link below), and thought I'd share it with you as well.

I have come to realize that I've been working on JAmiga for over 2
years now, without much progress, why I think JamVM is the way to go.
This means that JamVM will be used in place of JAmiga's VM, i.e. the
java binary. JamVM will be able to use the JAmiga style of native
libraries, hence, much of what is done in java-nio, java-lang and so
on should still be usable. In essence this means we'll be able to
focus on implementing Amiga native functions, instead of implementing
low level byte buffers, thread handling, and unimplemented JNI stuff.

Currently JamVM compiles and runs (and crashes) on OS 4. My instinct
however tells me there are fewer obstacles in getting to a non-
crashing, stable and, most importantly well tested JVM taking the
JamVM route.

JamVM uses pthreads and lots of Posix sig-stuff, but I'm in the
process of interchanging them with Amiga specific stuff. Currently I
am working on JamVM 1.5.3. I will upgrade this to the latest found in
the JamVM git repository, and I will probably commit this in a new
directory in the JAmiga2 SVN.

Best regards,
Joakim
