FAREWELL PARTY - ALVIDA 2010 !!!

Over the weekend, I was searching for the best place (along with Fazal
n Naiyer) for hosting our Farewell Party – ALVIDA 2010! (ok I came up
with that name after watching that shah rukh khan movie, becoz I think
it means ‘goodbye’ or something. If u guys have better names, pls tell
me…). After going through all available options, we finally settled on
one place—That is QBA Lounge (pronounced Cuba), opposite the Crowne
Plaza hotel, in NFC. It has some very good advantages:
1. It is VERY close to Jamia, so ppl wont have trouble finding it, or
wont have transportation problems.
2. Its ambience is VERY good.
3. They gave the best overall deal, out of all the other places.
The entire deal is ONLY for 600 Rupees. Now that is dirt cheap,
considering the ambience of the place, and the quality of the service.
We are talking about a place that has come in top 50 of the Best
Nightlife Awards and Best Dining Out Awards. The itinerary that I have
thought of is as follows:
1. Start party at 2:00 pm. There will be a DJ mixing songs according
to our choice of music
2. Unlimited mocktails- that is right, not just juices and soft
drinks, but mocktails are included free.
3. Unlimited Snacks- We will also receive one veg and one non veg
Finger item, throughout the time the DJ is playing.
4. At 6:00 pm, the DJ will stop playing. We can have a small
competition, and pick out MBA DIVA 2010 and MBA HUNK 2010 from our
seniors. This will not take more than half an hour.
5. By tht time, the QBA ppl will have laid out the buffet and the
seating arrangements (which are comfortable sofas btw)…HELL YEAH, u
heard right! You will also get a buffet dinner, which will include 3
VEG and 3 Non VEG items…and pulao n rotis, and dessert….And all are
ofcourse, 100% HALAL.
6. Party gets over by 8:00 pm, after which we can all disperse
The entire deal is actually worth 1150 rupees. But thanks to fazlur
and Naiyer (they ate the manager’s brains for more than 45 minutes, in
pure BIHARI style) the manager finally broke down to our demands. He
also waived off ALL TAXES (15%), and service charges (15%). The DJ we
are getting free, he waived off the extra DJ charges, So each of us
has to pay only rs600 NET. QBA is also throwing in prizes for the DIVA
n HUNK Competition. ..And the best deal of all…..THE PARTY IS ON
SUNDAY !!!!! On 11th of April….And we even got the extra weekend
charges waived off!!!! (I hope u guys know tht on Saturday, Sunday,
all bookings are more expensive)Whew……
Like I said, the above is the best deal tht we got. If any one of you
wants to check out the place, or enquire about the prices, you are
welcome to go to QBA and ask the manager. His name is Sandeep Dhar.
Just give him the reference of Naiyer or Varun, from Jamia MBA Dept.
I'm sorry, but I cannot be anymore “TRANSPARENT” than this…
So im looking forward to a favorable response from all you guys…I know
the girls are ready and excited as usual, but im hoping the boys will
be excited as well.. We need to book the place by WEDNESDAY, 7th of
April. So the last date to submit the money is on wed afternoon…No
money will be accepted after Wednesday. The seniors are also paying
equal amount as us, rs 600. I talked to them, and they are fine with
the money, and very happy. We need only 30 ppl total, to make this
party a success, and hopefully, we shall get around 20 from the senior
batch itself…
SO this is it guys…our chance to show that even JAMIA PPL can
ROCK!!!!! There is no more need for DU guys and JNU guys to be party
animals, and we Jamia-iites (or jaimians?) to be the geeks…Even we
can party hard!!!! All other depts. Should feel jealous about CMS,
that we had such a cool time (this is my primary aim actually)…we are
management students, so we should be able to host events
successfully..If this doesnt work out, then i dont think we will have
time to throw a farewell to our seniors..shame on us then...

haunts my mind......
1.at first when we were to organize the party at dept. at the cost of
mere 200 or 300 per head, many students were reluctant. so why to
filter more students by enhancing the monetary burden.and even in your
own post u hav mentioned that u just need 30 students.what do u mean
by dat???if u want to giv a personal party u can arrange ur own ,
without posting in the blog. the real enjoy of party will happen only
if we all students party together and dat will b only memorable.
2.following the foot prints of seniors ,we should giv them a real
enjoyable treat but it will b unfair if we ask dem to contribute for
farewell party and it seems cheap also.
3.also no matter hw much lucrative dis offer is but sorry to say that
our class is not comfortable with the organizing committee bcz we
havnt forgotten our bad experience regarding suits matter.moreover our
ties are also due on u people nd i m wondering around whose neck all
those ties are hanging???
so we expect ur clear stand on dis tie issue very soon.
thus its better to organize party in our dept.itself.so dat most of
the students get invoved and also its very important to get our
faculty members involve bcz dey r our mentor.

1. throwing farewell in pub will not involve the whole class n its about the whole class n not just for so called 30 ppl .....
2. talking about seniors .. its their eleventh hour at CMS .. after that it will not possible 4 them to come back here again .. so its really good n better to throw party at CMS .. as they can have the last fun n enjoyment here ... it will be a memorable moment 4 them, too ... going to pub is a usual event for job people....
3. n ya ofcourse no one have problem if someone wants to give personal farewell to their closer ones .. but let this personal feeling remain personal n not general at CMS....
4.so guys n gals too ... i hope U understand it n hope that u all can feel the sense of eternity at CMS..n make it feel to our seniors .......

say ALVIDA & best wishes to their elder or senior in a pub...
This would b al around last gathrng n high momnts 4 dem & even
teachers n those walls f d class r need 2 to der.
So y again same hard work is done as earlier in searchng all four P's
4 arrangmnt to host dis evnt.
There was no need of takng attndnc "in/out" at evnt lyk farewell..
It could been as simpl as we celebratd teachrs day in jamia itself &
evrybody happily participatd with a memorabl endng..
I appreciate d initiative u took n usualy u take., but u spoil it by
d way u start marktng it nd askng people to vote ur initiative..
U start in a way as u r doing against 50% (30 stdnt) of class.. It
shud nt b lyk dat.
Evry body luvs partng but at d ryt time nd at d ryt tone..

Vous de soi-disant organisateurs écoutez peu de choses que n les
maintiennent dans l'esprit qui sont pleines de l'argent, de l'argent
et de plus d'argent.
J'ai été pissé hors fonction par la décision que quelques génies a
prise, qui m'ont incité pour partager mes opinions à ces personnes,
autrement je n'aime pas commenter… elles essaye juste de faire leur
monopole au CMS.
Je conviens avec quel Asif a dit, et veux que vous les gens également
comprenniez cela. Espoir que vous allez le faire.
Je vous veux comprends les issues suivantes concernées à la classe, et
moi espère que vous vous conformerez à eux :
1. Il n'y aura aucune partie à tout le CMS extérieur, et parler du
Pub, AUCUNE VOIE. Si elle doit se produire, elle doit se produire
withen les murs du CMS et impliquant tous, par TOUS je veux dire tous.
Maintenez cela dans l'esprit. Car vous ne pouvez pas utiliser le mot
Jamia et le pousser dans un pub, aucune voie. Si anbody veut la donner
personnellement, va donnent à vos maisons ou où jamais souhait d'u, si
vous avez assez d'espace. OK.
2. Deuxièmement je mentionnerais que nous ne sommes pas heureux avec
donner notre argent précieux à ceux qui ont abusé de notre oney
précieux dans le passé sur leur confort, ainsi vous les gens n'avez
aucune réputation en rassemblant l'argent et en gagnant l'argent. si
secondaire.
3. Le problème concernant nos cravates devrait être résolu à moins de
2 ou 3 jours, échouant que nous réclamerons et de la façon dont nous
savons cela. nous ne vous laisserons jouer avec du notre argent plus.
Ainsi vous avez 3 jours ! ! !
4. Vous les gens n'êtes pas heureux en détruisant nos costumes, et en
gagnant l'argent hors de là, je me demande comment bon marché vous les
gens êtes, et pour vous l'argent de personnes est tout. Vous pouvez
tomber à n'importe quel niveau pour gagner l'argent.
La culture de Pub est totalement inacceptable pour Jamia Millia
ISLAMIA, jusqu'à ce que nous soyons une partie de Jamia que nous ne
laisserons pas son nommé mourir.
Tous ces problèmes sont résolus et j'espère qu'aucune autre discussion
ne sera nécessaire. Espoir que vous n'avez compris et avez besoin de
plus d'explication.
ESPOIR AINSI… et acclamations.
Maintenant je sais que vous les gens convertirez mon courrier en ur
pour posséder ceux de sorte que vous comprenniez la CROÛTE, car vous
même ne connaissez pas 5% du français, il soit juste votre affichiez
hors fonction.

i think very important issue has been raised by asif and i m with him.i personally thank him for raising this issue.
firstly,
i think the people responsible for the suits should give ties as soon as possible.
most of the students are not satisfied with suit.my suit has been stitched so tightly that its really difficult for me to breath in that suit.i think tailor should visit the cms again.
secondly,
i really dont understand one thing that we are partying out with just 30 students.where are the rest 30 students guys.
thirdly,
you are asking money from seniors.................oh my god............cant we even afford money to give a party to our seniors which such an emotional moment for them.................dnt u remember our freshers....................had they asked for money....................
fourthly,
i think party should in jamia campus itself.....................this party will be emotional for our seniors.............this party will be last party in jamia for our seniors........so i think its better to celebrate in the campus

when we can party at jamia at just a amount of 200 bugs.................then whats the use of giving party outside the campus at 600.......................moreover we will not take any money from our seniors

i think teachers,office staff,seniors n juniors will togther have a great time guys ...............lets act as a one big family.........lets not divide guys................be united..............take everyone..................dnt left anyone...............................unity must be our backbone guys........................so lets party togther at the campus itself

Irony aside, the good thing coming out of this all is the similarity of opinion among majority of the class, something which had become a rarity of sorts. Of all the opinions posted so far, I tend to agree with Asif's most as it is pretty factual and raises some valid concerns. May truth and integrity prevail in the end...Amen..
