Looking at different records about the Hacking family today, I saw a
few errors that I am looking for definative sources that will give us
the actual data:
1. Ann Pearson Hacking, grandmother of John Sampson Hacking, keeps
showing up with a death date of 1798. It is amazing that she was
married in 1799, and gave birth to three sons in three years, is
remembered by her grandchildren as coming to their home riding in her
carriage with a crest on it, and is mentioned in her husband's will in
1836, without appearing to have died. However, we are still looking
for her actual death date and place and where the couple (James and
Ann) were buried. Is there anyone who has more definate information?
2. John Sampson Hacking has two birth dates. Church membership records
show 6 Sep 1835 and our family records have 16 Sep 1835. It isn't such
a big deal, but is there more definate record of his birth anywhere?
3. Albert or Alfred. Poor George A. Hacking has two middle names
struggling to to be the definative choice. Good luck to Joanne, who is
trying to find an early record that will provide the strongest proof.
She is partial to Albert, I think.
4. I discovered something very interesting while looking at someone's
PAF file. Janet Hacking (Young) the oldest daughter of Kenneth Elbert
Hacking was given the second daughter of KEH, Margaret Hacking
McLaughlin, as her own daughter using the Young surname. If you have
this in your records, it is in error. Margaret Hacking is the daughter
of Kenneth Elbert Hacking and Laurel Maud Small.
Please check the KEH Tree on Ancestry to correct any errors for those
closely related to you and to update or correct your records.
