GREATER CHINA DAYBOOK: IMF on SDR; Zijin Gold Deals; Alibaba 2015-08-04 23:01:09.654 GMT
By Bloomberg News (Bloomberg) -- IMF says yuan trails global counterparts
in major benchmarks, “significant work” in analyzing data needed before deciding whether to grant currency reserve status. IMF staff members also open door to possible delay in any approval with proposal to postpone by 9 mos., until Sept. 2016, implementation of change in basket of currencies that make up its Special Drawing Rights, according to update on the 5-yearly review released Tuesday. IMF says postponing change would make the transition to a new basket smoother.
