Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

As years pass, more and more individuals, organizations, and companies create and manage their own websites for the purpose of marketing and endorsing their products or services to the public. When you visit a search engine to find something, results come out in hundreds of pages because several entries are found from different locations in the Web. If you have a newly launched website, do not expect that it will appear in the first page of search engines as it can be squeezed in between stacks of other related sites and links. The ranking competition among search results tend to become more tricky and difficult these days. However, never lose hope because the visibility of your website in Google, Bing, Yahoo, and other engines can be improved by using a secret ingredient called Search Engine Optimization or what is popularly known as SEO.

What is SEO?

SEO encompasses the techniques to boost a website for search engines. It is a method for designing and developing a website to rank well in search engine results. When a website ranks well in a search engine, the volume and quality of traffic will improve. Thus, SEO also covers tactics for marketing by observing how search engines work and what visitors usually search. Most of the techniques used in SEO deal with text, but it is also the responsibility of a SEO specialist to find ways on how to establish links and increase their popularity.

Optimization gets more difficult these days. I think Google hates SEO. Optimizers get smarter and wiser though, getting more competitive.

Google doesn't hate SEO. What it hates are black hat SEO practices. Well, thanks to optimizers, they have a job.

Makes sense but when the going gets tough, everyone tries to find out ways to outsmart the system.
