Subject: More fun ahead!
Fellow Scouters – Congratulations on completing a successful Jamboree experience for Denver Scouting. The pictures and messages I tracked while you were on tour and at the Summit were heartwarming and enjoyable. It looks like the plan worked and you should all be proud of the extraordinary experience provided to 260 Scouts. Thank you!
Now we move to the next chapter in this adventure, as follows:
1. Feedback survey forms have been developed and all Scouts should have the opportunity to provide their comments and suggestions for future Jamborees. Please get your hands on these and ask your Scouts to complete and return. The PASMs will tally and provide results for our consideration.
2. Process all receipts for expenses during the tour through Tina for reimbursement.
3. Follow-up on completion of any injury reports that should be filed with Dave Whitner. These would be for incidents that occurred while on tour and travel.
4. Gather your thoughts/recommendations, and those of your ASM team members, for input during a debrief session that will be scheduled during the next 3-4 weeks (likely a Saturday morning breakfast).
5. Specialty teams (PASM, LASM and RASM) please gather your recommendations for the debrief session.
6. Preparation of the Jamboree Guide Book for the 2017 Contingent:
a. Randall and I will spearhead the preparation of a Guide for use by future Contingent leaders
b. Sections will include:
i. Overview and Program schedule
ii. Leadership selection
iii. Recruiting and Fund Raising
iv. Budget and finance
v. Patches (Oh the Patches!)
vi. Specialty Teams – PASM, LASM and RASM
c. Sections should include your planning processes and the tools used to complete the projects.
7. Celebrate this successful journey. You and your Scouts and families deserve to rally and remember this magnificent adventure.
These projects should be more an encapsulation of the work you have already done, perhaps with an overview paragraph or two. A key will be contacts for reservations, meals, travel, etc. Randall and I will work on a general format.
Most important is your reflection and enjoyment of the success delivered to the Scouts who participated in the Jamboree experience. It is my privilege to work with you in this important and once-in-a-lifetime adventure.
Best,
Jim Blair
