Brad,
Last week it looked like the logistics for units to check one or two bags on the flight to NY was worked out with Randy Bruns. Now it looks like no checked bags will be allowed. Do you have confirmation on whether bags can be checked or not? Thanks.

Morning Dennis,
Looking like we may be limited to carry on’s for LASM and RASM goodies, so I will be stuffing as much as possible in and extra for the Graebel pickup, including Med Form copies for Jambo.
Leaving me with the 1st aid kit, and our book of med forms.
Let’s chat on what gear needs to be carried on.
One Extra Carry-on per unit but no checked luggage on the outbound flight from Denver
· We are not making friends with this item.
· Our schedule on Monday morning does not allow for waiting for checked luggage
· Generally gear is limited to what can be packed in the large duffel going on Graebel, the travel duffel and the day pack. The Summit requests that we be able to move gear from our drop point to the campsite in one trip so there is no gear or people blocking the arrival of the next group.
· The PASM team has assumed no checked luggage for a long time but there has been some confusion about that.
· Recently the issue was raised regarding the RASMs having multiple copies of medical forms, scout medications, and possibly first aid kits. A LASM concern was raised regarding ordered equipment like unit flags which may not arrive in time to make the Graebel drop off date.
· The PASM team discussed this at our last meeting and looked at options that wouldn’t impact the schedule but would provide for the space needed for the items mentioned.
· The result was:
1. Based on information received we believe that an extra travel duffle should be able to contain the materials of issue. So we will accommodate 1 extra travel duffel size bag per unit. This could contain any additional RASM and LASM materials.
2. We own all the seats on the Frontier charter and they will allow us to carry on more than 2 bags per person on that flight. So this accommodates the needs of 4 troops and 2 crews. But it doesn’t solve the issue for the 2 troops on JetBlue (C207 and D320).
3. We believe there is sufficient room in the overhead bins to handle the normal 168 travel duffels and 8 of the extra travel duffels containing RASM/LASM gear. The travel duffels are around 10” wide.
4. C207, D320 and both crews will be staying at the Vanderbilt YMCA. But the two crews fly in on the Frontier charter and will be riding the buses from LaGuardia to the West Side YMCA with the 4 troops on Frontier. They will stay on the bus and be transferred to the Vanderbilt YMCA.
5. The plan is to ask 2 adults flying on Frontier to carry the two extra travel duffels from C207 and D320 on the Frontier flight. These 2 bags would stay on the bus with the crews when they are transferred to Vanderbilt. It is expected that the two crews will arrive at the Vanderbilt YMCA earlier or at about the same time as the C207 and D320 troops do.
· On obvious side impact of this approach is that there can be no restricted airline cabin items in any bag.
· Just yesterday (Monday) the issue of liquid medications and things like scissors in the first aid. We are checking with Frontier regarding the issue of liquid medications. At least one RASM has indicated that he doesn’t want to check meds presumably to avoid loss or theft of the medications.

Troop C338,
Attached is the latest Jamboree packing list. The order of items has been rearranged, but I think the only changes are increased numbers of socks and underwear.

All,
In order to expedite the process, Frontier suggested I provide the list of names that will be checking backs. I understand it will be up to 8 bags. Let me know.
Thank you,
