I must admit, it is a little confusing. I based my interpretation on the Jamboree only polices and not BSA or Council policies. It seems that the Jamboree policy exceeds the BSA and Council policies.
On Page 8 of the
Jamboree Council Guide, it states that Scout leaders must complete Youth Protection Training. It also says that Venturing Leaders must complete Youth Protection Training. Neither states which version so I interpreted this to be based on the position.
On Page 10 of the
Jamboree Council Guide, it states that Staff positions must have YPT for both Boy Scout and Venturing.
On Page 11 of the
Jamboree Council Guide, is the beginning of the Code of Conduct. The Code of Conduct continues to page 12 where it states that the adult leader must complete YPT based on their registered Scouting membership; Boy Scout YPT for Boy Scout leaders and Venturing YPT for Venturing leaders.
Based on these guidelines, I collected Boy Scout YPT for Scoutmasters and Venturing YPT for Venturing Leaders.
Since we have some, or perhaps many, leaders that will be performing Staff functions, they should complete both based on page 10.
