And of course, the MS Access can now used as external database source:On Monday, 8 June 2026 at 14:43:50 UTC+8 Dean D. Babic wrote:The only thing needed is Microsoft Access Database Engine 2016 Redistributable.
Such engine exists on Windows only. This is x64 platform, Win11.All pagination, search, filters etc work, as well as lookup and details.Today, I am not so sure.
To be fair, I hoped for this 10 years ago. Back then, it could be
something to propel Jam into the Windows environment. This is a niche product: an Access modernization / migration layer. And for that reason, I will not offer this publicly atm. What AI says:This is not a mass-market product.
But it is:
💰 high-value niche tooling for people stuck in legacy hell
Those are often the easiest customers to convert because:
- they already have pain
- they already have budgets
- they just need “don’t break my system” solutions

Koje veze ima MS SQL sa ovime?
Da je to tako lako kod Access-a, bilo bi stotine plug-in frameworka
koji to mogu. Ali nema. Nula.
Pustimo mi Access Web opciju koja koristi SharePoint i odumrlu tehnologiju.
Odavno je MS odustao od toga.
Pa to sve znamo Radosav. Sve isto kao Access. Za ozbiljan rad treba VBA, SQL i sve ostalo.
Nije Jam ovdje da uci ljude programiranju i kako koristiti Python.
Po cemu je Workflow drugaciji?
Napravili smo >10 aplikacija, sve isto kao i v5. Ima svega par novih Eventa i routing.
Routing koristi OAuth i to je na Webu.
Nije Jam u problemu, nego OpenSource. To se vidi. Racune treba nekako i platiti.
Medeni mjesec OpenSource-a je prosao. Zna se zasto. Preostati ce samo "funded"
projekti koji imaju solidnu zaradu.
