Jalsahpalooza weekend in Pittsburgh! April 27-29!
Jalsah Pittsburgh IV Friday, April 27 at the Zenith! Bring your
instrument, ANY instrument, your drum, your hipscarf and let's party
until we have to go home! 8:30PM to 12:30AM. Special guests are Umut
Yasmut master kanunist from Istanbul and Carmine Guida from NYC on
oud.
Carmine Guida (www.carmine.com) will be teaching TWO drum workshops on
Saturday April 28.Foundations of Middle Eastern Drumming and Playing
Drum Solos for Dancers. Workshops start at 1PM at Allegheny Unitarian
Church, 1110 Resaca Place, Pittsburgh 15212. (NorthSide - Mexican War

April 28 7PM, Big Bellydance show with LIVE music at Khalil's
Restaurant 4757 Baum Blvd. Ishtar with special guests, Umut Yasmut and
Carmine Guida, will be playing the classics of bellydance for special
guest dancers, Kristina Melike of NYC, Zafira Dance Company, and
Berna of Khafif Dance. $12.00 cover, cash bar.
April 29 at 2PM, Kristina Melike will be teaching a 2 hour workshop on
Turkish Oriental Bellydance! Allegheny Unitarian Church 1110 Resaca
