Hi all,

Do you know any PIC18 running at 5V with internal RTCC (USB too will
be a bonus) ?

It's about one year since my last PIC project and I'm not familiar
with the latest changes in the family.

thx,
Vasile

http://www.microchip.com/maps/microcontroller.aspx is really useful, you can search for any combination. With USB: No. Without USB: 12 hits, 64 and 80 pin devices.

On the subject line you say 2 to 5V, so I would think 3.3V fits your
selection criterium! In that case there are many PICs with RTCC, e.g. in
the ranges 18fxxj11, 18fxxj13, 18fxxj50, 18fxxj53, of which the j50's
have also USB.
So if 5V is not an absolute must......

I assume you know we have an RTCC library and some samples (for the
18f26j11 and 18f27j53).

Regards, Rob.

Hi Rob,

In fact I want a 5V PIC18 with USB and RTCC. There isn't any. So I
guess probably I'll go with a 3.3V one, even that would require a 3.3V
LCD, and that needs also some work because usual extra large
alphanumeric LCD (which I need) does not have the -2V charge pump for
contrast adjustment, so it need to stuff it after buying the LCD.

Yes I know the RTCC library sample, it's nice.
Finaly, after more than 10 years with PICs I can only say I'm tired
and happy when have the chance to design something without a
microcontroller onboard...unfortunately is not the actual situation.

thx,
Vasile

I had the same problem! And I solved it by powering the board with 5V
and on board a small 3.3V regulator to power the PIC. Even though this
requires some extra components, the alternatives may require even more
(expensive) components.

Ce alt tip de microcontroller ati folosit in perioada asta (daca ati folosit)?
What type of microcontroller (if any) you used in this period of time?

5Vcc, RTC, USB 2.0, 100,000 erase/write cycles and more:

Sorry to disappoint you, but between Atmel and Pic is just a matter of
what do you like...both microcontrollers are good only for medium to
low speed applications. Enjoy the part you like more, but after 2
years of playing with you'll say both where crap.

What do you recommend for high speed?
