Hi guys,

Be aware that U.S. Gov. is out to identify the list of dependencies for every open software out there, with the undeclared intention to own or cut them. This started under Obama administration, now continues under Obama2/Biden administration. My advice (because I don't think you can stop this anymore)?

Secure your tools and platforms. Be sure that you can create and recreate your open-source application at any point in time. Make backups of everything, including of the Linux distro that works now for you, Regarding Linux, I think only Debian comes on DVDs with also all the applications available for it. Secure your dependencies! If not for others, do it for you.

let me, just as an illustration, transfer that article to food.

U.S. Gov. demands, that in its own canteen there must exist a list of ingredients for each and all types of food. Your conclusion is, that they're preparing to forbid everyone else to possess any similar dishes, right?

Sounds a lot like a conspiracy tale to me, and a quite recent one. In a quick internet search, I found that most critics of the law say, that it should go even further.

As I read the order, for OSS is not much to be done, as most of the open-source licenses already require to mention re-use of existing code and contain instructions, what software is needed to bild the product.

What do you mean by "hitting"? What's the presumed goal? Put an export ban on open source software? That wouldn't be a problem I think. The repositories would move out of the US altoghether, OSS wouldn't lose anything, but the U.S government would lose, not gain, influence.

I still don't see the point, and I also see very little relationship between the two articles.
