I have been using this device for about a year. About two weeks ago, the device began restarting/rebooting on its own. Of course I have to reconnect. I cannot see a pattern. Sometimes I have to reconnect constantly over and over, sometimes it stays on long enough to be useable. I want to make sure that the AT & T tech told me correctly that there is nothing on their end (as in the cell tower or office equipment) that can cause the device to act this way. I have checked for device update and I performed a factory restart. I hope someone knows of something I can try. I have tried different plugins and that does not seem to be the problem. Thanks!
This past week I happened to be on a website still trying to find a solution. A customer service person contacted me by a popup messenger, which was a surprise. This is the webpage: -to-fix-netgear-router-from-disconnecting
The RouterTechnical Support customer service rep put me in touch with a tech support person. After reviewing records on my network via remote connection, he found I had a Trojan virus that had infected the network, but the internet was still okay. There was no charge for this service. He was unable to remove the virus, but offered to put me in contact with a representative from Cisco who could help, but for a price. I decided to try it even though I was a little uneasy after getting all this help without first messaging or emailing. The Cisco tech removed the virus. I was able to watch both techs as they checked out the laptop. The Cisco tech said that it appears my hotspot may now have a problem possibly due to the infection, IF I understood correctly. At first, I had instances where the hotspot would still go into this restart cycle, but the last couple of days, the connection has been much more dependable. My device is a little over a year old, so no warranty protection. I found a place that sells this model online and ordered another one after the AT & T person said that I can do that and just install the SIM card over into the new model. I hope he told me correctly.
I confess that I had not changed the hotspot password as prompted when going through factory reset. I now do that. My recommendation would be to check into the possibility that you have a Trojan or some other virus affecting Network. I did not know such a thing existed, or I would have changed the password as it highly recommends doing. I don't know how I got the virus. In the year I have had the device, I occasionally get messages to my hotspot number, but I would never click a link in them. I hope someone will comment here about how the Trojan gets into the system. Was it embedded in a link from somewhere like Facebook, in an email, etc. How does a Trojan that can mess up the hotspot get into the laptop? If you do have a Trojan or virus, you will have to decide how best to tackle the problem. I paid the Cisco tech for help and my hotspot still seemed to be "iffy"--but the Trojan was removed as far as I can see.
Intermittently my AirCard 770s displays a no battery error. Removing the battery resets the AirCard and the AirCard works ok for 15 minutes then displays the no battery error again. The battery is fully charged. Is the battery the problem or is the AirCard causing this?
I was told that I would have to purchase a new device because mine was out of warranty and I was not eligible for an upgrade. I will not be renewing my service on this device in October. This is the second one to do this with me. Exact problems everyone else is saying.
Just started have the no bat error so i went to att and they did a factory reset and said it should be fine but if not go to an att store and bu a new one -- I have had it a little over a year - shouldn't it last longer that that ????
Remove the battery all together and just use plug in power supply at home/work or car. The read out will still stay 'No Battery' but it will work. If you must use battery consider buying a new unit or use warranty route if still avaliable. My unit is out of warranty and I paid cash for the D thing. I may dump AT&T for that reason. Good luck!
With just the power cord it works continously MOST of the time but every now and then it reboots itself and I have to reconnect. It is a little annoying but I can live with it for now. My guess is the issue will get worse over time. I am angry I will have to buy a new hotspot and have doubts about reliability. I wonder if a hacker was able to mess the device up through the Internet somehow. Good luck!
Having the same problem here, device lasted a little over one year. I think if enough people are having this issue, then netgear needs to do something about it. Shouldn't have to purchase a new device.
Well! After calls to at&t, Sierra, and Netgear, I am told I need to purchase a new battery because they only last about a year and the old one could be causing all the no battery and connection problems - which still sometimes says battery is at 100%. New batteries can be found on Amazon for $10 which is reasonable if the battery is the problem. Yes, sometimes it works with the battery removed, but not other sessions.
I tried a new battery - worked for a day and right back to no bat error. Went back to ATT and got sold a cheaper model of the same- Battery not so good but the one I bought works well in it. We should get an extended warrenty for the piece of junk.
I went to ATT late Sept. and they sold me a cheaper Netgeat model - looks the same but does not have options on the device - you have to sign in ti att-wifi to set up and change settings. Worked fine for a month - not it powers done every 10 min. getting a warrenty one in a few days but after two that failed I don't have confidence ? anyone have a better product ?
No need to buy anything new. I had the same problem (no battery & critical low battery messages) and tried everything everyone else had tried to no avail. Then I tried something I had done with a different device out of desperation a few years ago. Remove both the battery and the SIM card. Leave them out for about 10 minutes. Then reinsert the SIM card and then reinstall the battery. PROBLEM SOLVED!!!
I bought an unlocked aircard 785S sold in the Swedish market. Since it does not send a wifi signal I tethered it over USB to a PC and alternatively to a laptop. APN had to be set manually for
internet.proximus.be but it still won't connect to the internet. Authentication has also been set corrrectly according to the ISP's instructions (note: You need to log out of/log into the interface to see and activate the new APN profile.)
This 785S has the european frequency bands including LTE 800 MHz.
The device shows a good 3G signal including the operators name.
All wifi settings are correct, wifi should be active but no signal can be detected using inSSIDer wifi scan on laptop and network search with iphone 6+ and on laptop wifi. In setttings, wifi is to be active even though the device is tethered over USB.
I had the same problem not being able to access the device over wifi when I tried one a week earlier in the same shop.
I spent an hour with a helpful man on
netgear.se support but we could not make it work. We tried factory reset, same problem.
Other routers that I tried successfully include ZTE MF93D, ZTE MF910, AVM6840, AVM6842, Huawei B593 and various huawei hotspots, various modems with several dovado routers - so I usually manage to operate a router/hotspot. Faulty unit or dumb user?

As a popular series of LTE gadgets, Netgear 4G aircards are well-known many countries in Europe and the United States. Especially the hot Netgear Aircard 810s mobile hotspot, is the best seller for LTE advanced networks. Recently, Netgear provided a new 4G LTE mobile router Aircard 800s for Australian network provider Optus and Optus named it as Optus WiFi modem 800s. If this article, we will review the difference between the two mobile hotspots and see which one is better.
The Netgear AC810 has a 2.4 inch touchscreen on the front with two buttons for option: home and back. We have Aircard 810 in the version of Telstra WI-FI 4GX Advanced III. But it's already unlocked for global use. The Telstra Aircard 810 has the logo on the top side of the front. On the back, the Netgear logo is on the back cover, which could be removed to insert SIM card and battery. The Aircard 800s has similar features, on the front, there is a 2.4 inch touchscreen and Optus logo. Two buttons (home and back buttons) are available at the side of the screen. The Netgear logo is on the back cover, which could also be removed for changing SIM card or battery. And they both have two connectors for an external antenna. And the connector type is TS-9. They both use Micro SIM card to get WLAN network for internet access.
